Bennett's Publical Family Sports Grill — Restaurant in Miamisburg

Well, we had a party of 7 in our group. We were seated at a table then forgotten about for about 15 minutes until a waitress came to get our drink orders. 15 minutes later our drinks arrived. 15 minutes later they took our order (we had been there almost a half hour by then) and about 30 minutes later our food arrived at the table. COLD. The three in my family had cold food. I told the waitress to take it back, but do not re-heat it, I'll do without. (I never send back food to be spit on or worse) my wife and daughter dealt with their cold food as they were still hungry. When we were finished eating my food was still on the bill, I had to find her because she was no where to be found to ask her to fix the bill. The whole time we were there, she was nowhere around to refill our drinks. Over an hour and I only had 1 refill because finding her was not an easy task. I did tip her (why? I do not know, she was nowhere to be found the whole time we were there) but I left a penny face down on the table. But she is young, I bet she doesn't understand what that meant. I will not be going back. TO THE OWNERS! Just because you have a dozen TV's in your establishment does not mean good service. You should emphasize service! A good waitress is ALWAYS floating around her tables! ALWAYS asking patrons if everything is up to standards! LOOKING for the empty glass or empty plate! If the patron has an empty plate and an empty drink, she should be there immediately offer a new drink or desert...

While their walking-taco salad tasted very good, their service was uninformed and exceptionally slow. With only 6 parties in their facility at the time, our group waited 50 minutes from ordering our food to service (we ordered mostly appetizers and salads). Bennett's does not have menus for those with food allergies, vegetarianism/veganism, or celiac disease, and the identifiable options for celiac people were between the walking-taco salad and their steaks. Further, the staff was unaware of the issues for those with such eating restrictions, and couldn't make a recommendation on what would be safe to eat.

Update: we returned to Bennett's again, and this time the service was worse (in fairness it was a very busy night for them, but the issues were about more than just the 75 minute wait for food this time). The waitress openly chastised my friend when she asked for spaghetti without meatballs (she's vegetarian), rolling her eyes at her and giving us the "can you believe it?" face. Half our meal didn't arrive, specifically the salads ordered, which were then brought out after the food. Further, the waitress served one member of the table their meal and the spoon fell in, so she reached her hand to grab it and fish it out. I implore you not to eat here...you likely won't be satisfied with the horrendous service, which is a shame because the food does...

We came out tonight to go to TJ Chumps Patio, as we parked we passed by Bennett’s and have never even realized it was here, it’s hidden in the main drag of the Miamisburg entertainment district. The establishment doesn’t jump out at you, as we walked in at first we thought it was just a bar but if you turn to the left and go through a small doorway your in a large dining l, sports bar area.

We gave it a shot and we’re so glad we did. The server, Tiegan was great, friendly, prompt and on it. The food was delicious, we tried to sample a bit of everything. The wings were delicious, loved the fried mushrooms, the Mushroom burger on a pretzel bun was amazing, apparently the fresh ground Chuck burgers are delivered daily from Spring grove foods in Downtown Miamisburg, burger was delicious.

‘Moms great bean soup’ that is a 55 year old recipe looked like Chili but it did taste like bean soup and I was a bit underwhelmed by the bean soup, not sure why I expected more, probably because it’s listed as a ‘B’signature dish.

The Santa Fe Egg Rolls are spicy 🌶️ and melt in your mouth, absolutely loved them.

The Bad Benny Cocktail was good and refreshing but I couldn’t taste much vodka so I think I’d pass on that next time.

Overall, 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ we loved it, the atmosphere and we love Downtown Miamisburg. Thanks for a great first experience...
