As soon as we walked in, our waitress had a bad attitude. She was carrying a plate and my dad asked her what it was and she just gave a dirty look and told him to keep moving. Then when our group of 16 were seated she immediately told us we couldn’t split the bill in 4 even though we told her that we were going to make the split very easily for her. Once we agreed to splitting it in two checks per the waitress we started ordering our food. I was ordering the combo listed under the appetizers when she started asking if I wanted it as an appetizer or as a entree, I told her that I want it exactly how it says under appetizers thinking maybe there was another combo in the entree section. She was so rude and kept asking if I wanted it as an appetizer or an entree with a condescending tone and asked if she needed to explain it more (kind of like I was stupid), the whole time she was asking if I wanted the plate before the entrees or if she should bring all the plates out together. I understand there was miscommunication in both our parts but her attitude was uncalled for and so rude. Our whole group decided to walk out because of that one waitress’s bad attitude. 0/10 customer service, a waitress should never act like that (I have a lot of experience of waitressing and nobody should be acting like that in a work...
Read moreWe are just starting to explore Mexican restaurants in the Cape May area and recently dined in at Dos Amigos. We did take out from this restaurant during the pandemic but found the dining in experience better due to the ambiance of the restaurant and the lack of travel time for the food to get to the table. The restaurant is a large room with a number of booths along one wall. It is nicely decorated and the lighting wasn't overly bright when we dined (some places are so bright it feels like you are eating in a cafeteria). Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. The guacamole was very good as were our meals - enchilada plate and a chicken dish. The menu is extensive and the price points are reasonable. We brought wine as they don't have a liquor license and was surprised to learn that they don't have a margarita mix in case you bring your own tequila, but that might be a good thing as many families were dining the night we were there. Our only gripe is we thought our meals were smothered in sauce so much that the enchiladas didn't stand on their own but were more like in a broth. A minor gripe compared to the nice tastes, fair pricing, and attentive service. We...
Read moreAThe food is delicious! So are the margaritas! The baskets of chips are fresh and crispy! Even when it is busy,, you will get your food without a delay. You may prefer to sit on the more lively side, to the left, with high-top tables and chairs, or, instead, in the large floor area on the right side with nice-sized regular height tables for an unhurried, quieter meal. You will usually find me at one of the high-top tables. I love the friendly atmosphere and the buzz of people there enjoying themselves and having a good time. You too will want to return again and again. Tacos el Tio is very, very popular. So it does get busy. You will still get seated quickly, but if you and your party have to wait to be seated, I suggest you get yourself a drink and wait, standing, or you can sit on their padded bench, or even outside (without alcohol). Lastly, when you are getting ready to leave, be sure to leave a good tip. It's a big, busy restaurant. All the servers work hard, navigating back and forth and around lots of tables and people to bring you your food and drinks in a friendly, efficient way that makes for a great meal and a great time out! Tacos el Tio - see...
