The store is always understaffed. Most people need help finding things. The aisles are really over crowded and not always accessible or ada friendly. As it took about 10 minutes to find someone to help. There was 3 of us waiting to be helped by Lynn. She was super informative, helpful and went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for. Also told me about the coupon for downloading the app. Lynn deserves a raise for being the only one present on the floor while one person at the register. If you had one to two more people the average store visit could be 10 minutes. I wish there was more organization as to where to find things. Like I was looking for a scrapbooking book and I found the cricket, stickers and pages. But the books were mixed in with photo albums binders and notebooks. None of the items seem to be priced or matched with the correct price tag. It would be super helpful to actually put the stickers on the items for price. Since there I'd usually only one of each and it is just disorganized chaos. I wish it was organized by type or at least size or even colors. As doing it by brands is kind of useless for trying to find things. Being blind it makes things ten...
Read moreI make custom shirts and cups and things of that nature. I was in a bind and needed 27 shirts for a church event. I did an online order for pick up and picked it up the next day. I get to the store. Not one employee to be seen at the registers or the front door. I looked. I waited. Then I checked the overhaul because I needed my items, and there was no one around. I grabbed my items. Matched my name and order to the email they sent on my phone. After I had gotten my things and was ready to leave, an employee came up and was not the kindest about telling me I should have waited or called for help. I did wait. How would I call for help? Apparently, there's a button i could push. Several feet away from the overhaul compartments, which are literally right next to the doors. There's no signage that says I couldn't grab my things and no signage that says push the button for help. I rarely go to Michael's anymore, and that made me not want to go at all. Unfortunately, we don't have any other craft stores locally. Customer service is not...
Read moreI purchase quite a bit of yarn for knitting these days and am amazed that Michael's yarn prices are far more expensive (even with their coupons) than Walmart, a few doors away. Yes, Walmart carries the exact same brands and most colors of yarn as Michaels sells. One particular brand of yarn with a 40% off coupon at Michaels costs approximately $5; the identical skein costs less than $3 at Walmart. Further, the coupons that Michaels issues are irritating. A coupon good for 50% off, for example, may only be valid from 4 PM to 9 PM. And their policy of one coupon per customer per day is ridiculous...this results in my purchasing one item only at Michaels that I cannot find at Walmart, and then I head directly to Walmart for the rest of my purchases; it does not encourage me to visit the store daily to use one coupon when 3 doors down I can buy it cheaper. Michaels coupon policy makes it counterproductive to even bother with them. Lower your prices or lose me and other educated consumers...
