If you want delicious craft beer served inside of a state of the art brewery complete with delicious food, then a must- visit destination is Fat Head’s Brewery in Middleburg Heights. The new brewery and restaurant was opened in the summer of 2018 and it amazes on many levels.
I visited Fat Head’s Brewery during a beer tour of the Cleveland, Ohio in support of my Great Beer Now beer blog. Due to its close proximity to the Cleveland airport, Fat Head’s seemed like a good place to start my visit. I was already familiar with Fat Head’s, due to the beers I had already tried at festivals and the large number of awards its beers have won over the years, but I was still anxious to try more of them and check out the new facility.
Entering Fat Head’s Brewery places you right in the large restaurant and tap room and it is here that you could easily spend hours, sampling beer, eating delicious food, watching sports, and meeting new people. The bar is long and seats a large number of people and there is a multitude of taps serving every style of beer imaginable. I ordered many smaller size beers for sampling and tried some of the food, all of which was beyond pleasing to all of my senses.
Fat Head’s Brewery has a large brewhouse and I recommend taking a tour if you have the time. It’s impressive in every way and if there is no scheduled tour at the time, never fear because they offer a self- guided tour. This is a great way to find out more about Fat Head’s Brewery, its commitment to beer and community, where it has been, and where it is going.
Fat Head’s Brewery has the brewing expertise to satisfy and the restaurant serves some delicious food, making it popular for beer lovers and non- beer lovers alike. I loved everything about Fat Head’s Brewery in Middleburg Heights and I give it my highest recommendation. It’s very close to the Cleveland airport so if you find yourself delayed for a flight or otherwise waiting around for your flight and want something worthwhile to do, get hold of Uber and make your way to Fat Head’s Brewery. It’s an experience you...
Read moreCame here three days ago on late Sunday morning. It’s been a while since the last time I was here, as in before the year 2020. That last visit was a great experience. My visit on Sunday was also a great experience.
The place inside is huge wide and tall. Very spacious and clean. They have some pinball machines on one side of the dining area. They also have a good sized gift store with lots of goodies such as clothes, stickers, and Fat Heads glassware. Eat and drink here and the gift store will give you a discount on your purchase. Pretty cool stuff! Three is also a walkway that goes behind the bar where you can see the brewing and canning floors, as well as their laboratory. Buy a pint, take a walk and see how this place does its brewing magic and more.
I sat at the bar and got served by a nice lady bartender and a few other male employees. While I wouldn’t call the service personable, it was friendly, prompt and professional. They made sure I was taken care of and they did one hell of a great job. Bravo to their bar employees!
I brought two beer flights. Their flights have four beers and each pour is priced differently, depending on what beer you buy. All of their beers were well made, great flavors and mouthfeel, bold, and creative. Their 30th anniversary Pilsner and different variants of their award winning Head Hunter IPA certainly didn’t disappoint. Heck all of their beers were awesome and were brewery only beers. Definitely worth the time!
I brought their pierogis. These are freshly made by the local Mom’s Pierogis business. Cheddar cheese and potato pierogis were cooked perfectly, you know they were fresh and not frozen, and hot! They were served with sautéed onions and cream cheese. Filling and delicious. I’ve had Mom’s Pierogis at a good event years ago and remember how delicious and amazing they were. I’m so glad a winner locally made pierogi made its way to a local brewery with great beers. The perfect lunch for sure!
I will definitely come back and you should...
Read moreNice dinner we had here. Service was pretty good. Got a seat right away.
-Buffalo cauliflower- it was okay, had good flavor at first. After awhile it got a little too sweet. (3/5)
-Pepperjack cheese bites- not bad for a snack. Crispy and came with a great southwest sauce. (4/5)
-Smoked wings- very good! We got them with the sauce on the side. Garlic parmesan sauce was our choice. (5/5)
3 meat platter-
1.Brisket: Not bad, good smokey flavor, just a lot of fat included. (3/5) Could do without the bread.
Pulled pork: Again nice smoke flavor and taste. Just comes on white bread which could be left off. (4/5)
Jalapeno sausage: Not a fan. I didn't taste any spice, and it was more like a kielbasa. And on more white bread...(1/5)
Brownie caramel cheesecake- Pretty good. Just should be called cheesecake with brownie pieces on top. (2/5)
Sides:
-Brussel sprout salad- hard pass. I'd skip this unless you really love Brussel sprouts. (0/5l
-Macaroni and cheese- skip it. Tiny shells with no flavor. Comes in a crock for some reason even though it wasn't baked in the oven. (1/5) It's like eating boxed mac and cheese.
-Garlic mashed potatoes-- the potatoes are great, just could've fooled me that any garlic were in them. (3/5)
Sauces:
-Garlic parmesan- It's not bad, decent flavor. (4/5)
-Alabama white- I really liked this sauce. Creamy sauce (5/5)
-Killer sauce- While I love all spicy things, this is a pass. The only thing killer about this sauce is killing your taste buds. (0/5)
-Killer ranch dressing- This was pretty good. Way better than the Killer sauce alone. Comes with the cheese bites. (3/5)
Beer:
Sunshine daydream beer is okay. This is a drink you can have all day without the high alcohol content at 4.9%. Decent flavor. (4/5)
The menu varies from the North Olmsted location. Not all the same items are offered at...
