Perkins American Food Co. — Restaurant in Middleburg Heights

Wish I could give this place a better rating since it is one of my favorite restaurants since I was a kid but after the experience I had this evening I don't think I will ever be returning. Me and a couple of friends went to the casino we did pretty good so we've decided that we go to Perkins to celebrate. We walked in we were mildly greeted by a lady we sat down at a table we all ordered a water with lemon as we do at any place until we decide what we want to drink or eat or if we want a milkshake the lady seemed like she add an attitude about us ordering water not knowing we were ordering something else she then brought it back to the table asked if we needed a few minutes we said yes when she came back we ordered our food and we also ordered pop to drink we waited about 10 minutes still no pop when she came back to the table we reminded her that we had ordered it she went back and got it after that when the food came out I asked for scrambled eggs with cheese I got normal eggs no cheese thought to myself no need to complain she's probably having a long night... afterwards I noticed my bacon tasted a little weird... halfway through my meal I started to feel violently sick I went to the bathroom and got ill from the food while I was in the bathroom she came and asked if we wanted our checks the people I was with said no please hold off on the check as we are probly going to order pie she got aggravated and brought back the receipts and slap them on the table as if she wanted us to leave so when I finally came out of the bathroom I was told about this and then we just said screw it we will pay for our bill I walked up to her and told her that the food had made me sick and she literally just laughed and said OK .....as if like what did I want I wanted her to do about it I then said after I paid and tipped her please have somebody check the meat I don't want anybody else getting sick like I did and she said yeah I'll get right on that in a joking manner very disrespectful can't believe...

Twice we went. Couldn't beat the price at the time. The place wasn't busy, but the service was good, it was quiet, and the food came to our table quickly. Done to perfection. Friday, May 2: went the same time. A little busier, even though it was 7:30. It was a good 10 minutes before a waitress came to our table with menus. We waited almost 45 minutes for food. Very disappointing. We were splitting the shrimp and fish meals - better price - and was shocked at what we finally received. We did not get all three pieces of fish at the same time. The first two pieces were undercooked. Since we were waiting for the 3rd piece, we requested it as well done. My baked potato was burnt on the bottom. And the shrimp????? Not sure what they were but they were not shrimp. They were edible but left a lot to be desired. They looked like shrimp fish sticks. More breading than shrimp and pressed into a strange shape. The reason for such a horrible dinner? The manager that night had sent people home because it was slow, and when there was a rush, they were not able to handle it. I would bet they had no cook and the waitress was cooking. The shrimp? The truck ran out of frozen shrimp, so they gave them the oddities that were served tonight. And when we tried to talk to our waitress, she spoke like a mouse because she knew we were not happy. She was very nice, and did her best with the situation. We should have walked out before the food was brought, since it was taking so long. We even had to stand up and walk around because we were sitting so long. Most likely will not be going back. IMO, since I have worked in food service, they should have kept the people there and had them do stocking, or cleaning. Something. It would have just got them out faster after closing. ...

Went to this very super-fab awesome place for breakfast this Memorial Day morning around 7:50am. Once we were there, the server led us to our table 15 seconds faster. A lot faster. That was the very great part. And a sign of very awesome service here. When we were asked about our food and drink, the server was super-kind. The server was also super loyal and professional. I have to say, the staff wasted absolutely zero time making and preparing our breakfast foods. It takes very awesome quality service to know awesome quality service. And today was absolutely one of those times. The chocolate milk was delivered to me in a minute. Tasted it, and it was simply tremendous. And simply superb. There are 2 favorite parts of the restaurant that I love: the awesome breakfast/lunch menu and the awesome dessert menu. But back to my meal. Super-awesome pancakes were delivered to me as well as the scrambled eggs and sausage patty. Had a very awesome breakfast meal; pancakes were awesome, and the scrambled eggs and sausage patty was superb. Superb in every way. This is a very generous restaurant that I definitely have to keep coming to more often, without a doubt, especially during the winter months and non-winter months. Seriously.
