Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Middletown Township

If I could give a negative star, that'd be more accurate to my experience here. A few weeks ago after a long day of working, my co-workers and I decided to go there since they were open late. It was 12:20am and we decided to call them and kindly ask if it was okay to come in and eat considering they're closed at 1am, they said yes. We get there around 12:35am, (I know it's horrible when people come in and you're trying to go home, but we asked!!). Upon arrival our waiter was VERY RUDE! He didn't even intruduce himself, he said "the kitchen closes in 10 minutes hurry up." I was taken back but it was nothing I was going get upset over. He takes our drink orders and slams the drinks on the table and chucks straws at us while walking away. Never have I ever experienced service like this. When we ordered our food he gave us less then 5 minutes from when we walked in to order. Our food came out, he came to check on us once but only to see if we were finished. On top of us eating we were being stared at by all of the other employees, including the managers!!! All eyes were on us and I felt as if I had to swallow my food whole for them to stop looking, mind you we only got the 1/2 priced apps. When we were barely close to being done, the waiter just handed us our check, didn't ask if we wanted anything like dessert or even a refill. And we wanted to spilt the bill but we didn't want to bother them more than we already have. Even though we still tipped him, we were disgusted with the service. As the waiter came to ask what my girlfriend and I wanted to drink, I submitted my order and the waiter left without asking what my girlfriend wanted, or even giving her two seconds to say it herself.

I ordered the all you can eat buffalo wings and specifically asked for bleu cheese instead of ranch. Once the food arrived by another waiter, my order was wrong. I had to wait several minutes for my waiter to come by after watching them stand by the wall and just talk. They said they were sure I asked for ranch, (but the default IS ranch) but nevertheless I got the ordered fixed and I could start eating my now cold wings.

Secondly, I waited for them to refill my water for about 8 minutes and waited for their return another 12 to 15 minutes to order a 2nd helping of all you can eat wings. They passed me multiple times, never asking me if I needed anything until I started looking around for them. As I received the 2nd helping, they just walked by and placed it on the corner of the table and continued walking. Not many people were in this location at this hour.

Overall, my visit turned into over 60 minutes when I just wanted to grab a quick meal of wings and go. He never asked if we wanted desert or an alcoholic drink. However, this bad service was in my favor; having me wait so long, I didn't want to even eat the second helping and in result, avoided a situation where I ate more than I should actually eat.

Still unhappy with the service though.

We sat at the bar. Was no one else at the bar except for the two of us. The bartender, older white lady, Corrine I believe, seemed annoyed that we were there. Not friendly at all. Two other people sat at the bar, regulars apparently according to her. She was all attentive with them and immediately took their orders, even though she never took our order yet. She proceeded to completely ignore us to the point that another woman had to take our order. Every server we saw had a nasty look on their faces. Food was just being dumped onto peoples tables. The bartender continued to spend the bulk of her time with the same one couple, even though there were two more people beyond us at the bar. She then started talking with the younger girl, the one who actually took our order and was nice to us, and said they were being scored on their work. She claimed the bar received a 100. No one asked anyone else how their meals were, if they needed anything else, etc. Service was a 0, not 100. Worst service I have ever experienced at any bar or restaurant in my life, anywhere in the country. I guess there's a reason people call it crapplebees. The manager should have seen all of these issues but he was too busy running food as the other servers were too busy doing nothing....
