Great food, lively atmosphere, managers who care, large menu with items for all, good pricing - I recommend! I've been here 3 times, and will return! It does get really busy at prime times - I didn't stay the 1st time with an hour and a half wait. But seeing all the people who were waiting showed it was worth it. My second visit, I was discouraged by the full parking lot and the full house. Turned out most people were gathered around their 2 bars. (Either a group event or a game on TV, I think.) I was quickly shown to a nicely situated big booth. (Kudos to them for not trying to seat me at a non-desirable table, which often happens to older women eating alone!) I had the most wonderful waitress - the very embodiment of what I like wait staff to be. Since I was trying a new place, I had a cocktail, appetizer, entree, and dessert. My waitress was happily helpful with my choices; athough I don't think there are any bad choices at Miller's. I thoroughly enjoyed my Mojito, Southwestern Chicken Eggrolls, Coconut Shrimp, and Pull & Pop Donuts. Everything was delicious! (Sorry, no photos.) The food was paced perfectly and I wasn't rushed at all, even though the place had filled up while I was eating. I saw the manager making the rounds, and she stopped at my table twice to ask how everything was. Perfect experience. 3rd visit on a Thursday, with a friend. We both had the Thursday special of Prime Rib, we both had baked potato. Asked for bread and were brought lovely soft rolls. The Prime Rib was a very nice, large piece; it came out as we ordered, 1 medium rare and 1 medium well. Such a large cut that we each took some home. It had the perfect amount of fat for Prime Rib; it was extremely flavorful and tender. The baked potato was a joy, baked to perfection; skin a little crispy and light & fluffy inside. (Sorry, no photos this time either!) A manager stopped by this visit too and asked how everything was. I was disappointed in our waitress this time, it felt like she was rushing us from the start. There's a difference between attentive service & trying to turn the table quickly. But the pace of the food was OK, and we got everything we asked for. She got a 20% tip, not the extravagant tip the waitress at my first meal received! BTW - there are 2 bars; the whole place is lined with big TVs playing a variety of mostly sports; I saw all ages; very lively kinda fun atmosphere; seemed a little loud in the one bar room, but fun-loud, yet the noise level at the booths was muted and fine. The wooden booths are very large, and comfortable. So, obviously, Miller's meets & exceeds my standards -...
Read moreUPDATE: pleasantly surprised Miller Ale House called, I appreciate that my concern was heard. Looking forward to eating more wings as I love their food and their Osso Bucco. As I've mentioned before, staff and their service is always good.
UPDATE: Had 3 orders of chicken wings because (it was wing wednesday).
Was disappointed because it was very obvious that the chicken wings were not fresh, even had freezer burn i believe. (The fried chicken wings has large white spots, even though it was cooked). One of the orders of chicken wings was really bad, i ate a piece, and i thought it was that one piece, but had another and it really tasted funky).. had it replaced. (we paid for all our orders, I felt bad complaining because we love eating there.) It became a take out because it does take a while to make a new batch of chicken wings, which is understandable. (all three orders of chicken did not taste fresh and had the same white patches on them but that one order was quite inedible)
Went home, it was extra fried which we liked, but like the same order, the chicken was bad. I only realized that i had to complain because normally id let it go, but that same night i had a bad allergic reaction. I already took an allergy pill before eating as a preemptive measure. I do it because when poultry or seafood is not fresh i get hives, normally I don't get a problem when eating. But sadly, even if i took my allergy pill, it gave me bad hives/allergic reaction after eating it.
I was told that that branch changed chicken suppliers. And that miller ale house baltimore pike do not freeze their chicken... so it means their supplier freezes it and supplied a freezer burned chicken.
I love your wings. Your staff is great, the service is great.. but please tell the new chicken supplier to supply themwith decent...
Read moreIt was my first visit to this particular Millers. I go to the springfield Millers frequently. I live closer to the Media restaurant however I will continue to go to the one in Springfield and heres why. When we arrived the hostess was short with us. There was grease smudges on the booth seats that we wiped up. Our server was nice. We ordered Prime rib one medium rare and one medium well. We asked for the Ribs to be placed on the grill to cook because we order it that way in Springfield. The medium rare came out rare and the medium well came out medium rare, and not cooked on the grill. The manager did come to our table and we talked about the issue and I stated that the rare steak wasn't what we orderd. He proceeded to tell me that the rare steak was a perfect medium rare. I'm actually shocked that the manager said that and I stated that I am a chef (with a culinary degree from 1 of the top culinary arts universities in NE) so I know the temps. Not to mention the fat on the prime rib was raw. We also mentioned that the aujus was salty. It wouldn't have been an issue if I ate rare steak we could have switched. So we send it back and the manager brings the new prime ribs back and my medium well was medium and the other came out perfect and to our surprise with grill marks. The atmosphere isn't like Springfield and thats just my opinion, so i will continue to eat there. Oh and I am aware its more of a sports bar type of place and im sure you are thinking this is not lone star or Ruth Chris LOL. I order prime rib in Springfield and haven't run into this. Media is new and I hope that they do great, however I prefer Springfield. If management is reading this My...
