Chelsea's Restaurant — Restaurant in Middletown

I try to get the same things first time I try anywhere. Then it's a fair comparison. Called in to place my order. Lady on the phone was lovely ! Food was done quickly which is always a perk! When I went in the lady who checked me out was still as nice as ever ! Asked if I needed jam or anything else before I headed out. Pricing was very fair. Now. The food. I was not a fan on the bagel. I ordered a plain bagel it's taste was awful. It was almost bitter. The home fries weren't very tasty. Didn't taste very much seasoning if any at all. The omlette was good but only where cheese was. Otherwise again I felt like there wasn't much flavor... it was like scrambling an egg and not even adding a pinch of salt at the very least! I hate to give negative reviews but if you're around the area I would try somewhere else. However! That being said how friendly the staff was alone would make me come back to give it a second shot I just know omlettes from Chelsea's isn't quite what I was looking for. I even tried to make the meal tolerable by turning it into a sandwich! I ended up tossing most of the meal. Not worth the calories if it isn't going to be enjoyed every bite along the way. We use to go here a lot but recently we had a very ugly experience with a waitress who accused us of short changing the bill when we’ve gone before. She said we’d done it multiple times. I couldn’t believe she accused us since we go at least twice a month if not more in the two and a half years we’ve been in this town. We were so offended by this and yet she couldn’t tell us why no one had ever said anything until now. I don’t usually like to assume this but in today’s current climate and with the randomness of her comment I am left assuming it’s something about us. Is it because we’re military? Is it because we’re a young couple? Is it the color of skin which happens to be brown. Needless to say, we were hurt that day especially since we’ve gone there so often to be accused of this. It was our last time eating at this establishment and I will be warning other military families especially those of color of the treatment...

I would not recommend this place. First off, The cream for my coffee was spoiled with chunky bits and had to ask for another creamer and coffee. The food was trash. The bacon was thinner than my fingernails. The egg omelet was overcooked. Basic toast served on a paper plate with the smallest bit of butter on it. The ham in my omelette was super salty, bacon was too salty and don’t even get me started on the home fries. Hard and salty, terrible seasoning on the home fries. Lastly the service. I understand places are understaffed these days but not once did our waitress come back after our meal was served to ask how it was/if we needed anything and we both wanted more juice. Salty breakfast and nothing to wash it down with since they serve you a small cup of juice and call it a “large”.
