Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Middletown

I went to this location with my family a few days ago and had a pretty bad experience. The server was kind of careless. She didn't warn us before we ordered that there was no refills with the root beer. She tried charge us for the salsa even though it was supposed to be free with the 3 for me deal, and she never asked me how I wanted my steak. When my food arrived my steak was raw, so I asked her to please send it back and make it at least a medium well. When it was brought out it was by another person who dropped it at the table and left without asking me to cut into it, and surprise, it was still rare. So I had to get my waitress over and tell her to please take it back again because it was still very bloody, so she did, and when she brought it back out the third time she actually finally waited for me to cut into it, and surprise, it was still very red and cold, like they never actually did anything to it. By that time everyone in my family had already eaten, so I just asked her to take it and please remove it from my bill because I didn't want it. After that she brought us our bill, and instead of removing my food from the bill she removed my son's meal instead (the least expensive), and when I told her that wasn't right she argued with me that she was doing me a favor because she would have had to charge me separately for the chips and salsa appetizer that was supposed to be free with my meal (which made no sense b cause with the difference in price between the meals it's like I paid for the chips and some)! So I complained online about my experience, never got an official apology but had a $25 gift card sent to me, no message, just the card. So today I decided to give it another shot and buy some food for pickup. Silly me! My kids' burgers were rare, and there was a long, black hair on my chips (I'm blonde). Safe to say enough is enough! We hadn't been in several years after repeated bad service. We were looking for a place to have a late lunch, and hubby said we haven't been since before covid. Let's give Chili's another try. It wasn't very busy, we were seated right away. We put in our order. We both ordered strawberry lemonade. Appetizers and food came out quickly and really hot. He finished his lemonade and continued to eat his meal. Soon after I too had finished my drink. Waitress comes over while we are eating and asks if we needed boxes. I said no, we are eating but we would like more drinks please. 20 minutes have passed, and we are both done eating. I ate half my meal and just wanted to leave at this point. I asked a different Waitress if we could please have drink refills because our waitress had disappeared. More time passes, and our waitress comes by and plops our drinks on the table without a word and just walks away. Hubby goes to the side and gets me a box. We paid on the machine on the table because we never got a bill. As we are leaving, the waitress comes over and asks if we needed anything. Worst experience with service and food. The server took our order and then we didn’t see her again. We asked for the kids meals to come out as soon as possible, but they came out after the adult meals. My steak was thin like a pancake and overcooked. Absolutely awful. The rest of the food was severely under seasoned. The server never came back to see how the food was or if we needed anything. No chance to get my steak fixed or anything else we ordered. No drink refills or offer a to go box. Instead the server was chatting it up at the bar. Mind you we were the only table in her section and there were only 2 other occupied tables in the restaurant. If it was as not obvious why I did not type you, this should explain it. I am a great tipper and would have tipped extremely well, even if I got half decent service, unfortunately this was the bottom of the barrel. So please don’t go to social media about a $100 bill and no tip, tips are earned, it’s your job to serve, try a little harder.
