Klekolo World Coffee — Restaurant in Middletown

After seeing some of the reviews on here, and also being that I’ve been to this place countless times and I know a couple of the people that work there personally, to give a fair and honest review. I’ll start by saying that I understand where some people are coming from by saying the staff can be rude, the staff are very attentive to you and the drinks they make, but I have experienced cold and uninviting vibes at times, but I don’t think these are rude or cold people as much as people that are more focused on their work then making the customer feel comforted and welcomed, which brings me to my next point, the drinks and food are QUALITY and not only in how they taste but you can tell that good intentions go into it and the coffee comes from wholesome sources. It’s a really nice place to go meet a couple of friends , bring your kid, or just sit alone and work because the music is usually at a comfortable volume and there’s never loads of loud people in there. Definitely my kind of coffee house. They have a wide variety of coffee drinks including drip, espresso, various latte concoctions, an teas. Anything can be iced or hot. Pretty standard fare. I was in town working, so I stopped here twice to plug in, but let it be known that there's only one spot in there to plug anything in and it's into a power strip under the chair in the far right corner. I think I lucked out both times by going at a time when they weren't super busy (weekdays around noon). The girl working the first day was friendly enough, if not a bit stand offish, but I didn't really mind. The man working the second time was incredibly pretentious, and seemed crazy over his job. Which is fine. Not worth taking a star away over. What IS worth taking a star away is then not taking card. On two different occasions I literally ordered iced espresso and barista poured me iced coffee (never even touched the espresso machine) but still charged me for that iced espresso six dollars. My husband was witness to this the first time it happened. I was questioning it but I decided not to say anything. The second time, I watched the barista do all this and when I called him out on it he flipped on me. Then he Tried to turn it around and make me feel bad for what he was doing wrong. Then the things he proceeded to say to were unbelievable to me and very upsetting. Called me bipolar and told me to go take my meds. At one point he even threatened to break my neck. I never ever threatened him or called him names. I did not call him any names I simply was calling him on what he was doing which was wrong. Not only is this so so wrong also it’s Criminal. Shame.
