I have not had great luck with Asian food in Kentucky and this is no exception. First time ordered the beef and pea pods, small size. It came in the flat plastic tray as expected. However, unlike everywhere else I have been only half the tray had the beef and pea pods and the other half had the rice. Everywhere else I have been gives you a tray filled with the beef and pea pods, and the rice comes in a white box container. hmmm. Next time I ordered I figured since I knew what they were going to do I ordered the large size. Well I guess they are smarter than I am. Only 1/3 of the tray had beef and pea pods about the same portion size as the small order), and the rest of the space was filled with rice. Shrimp fried rice. I guess they don't get the fried part of the fried rice. the rice was pale yellow and if it had been near a grill or really hot wok I couldn't tell. Most places I have been would have put it on the plastic tray since it was ordered a la carte rather than a side but they put it in the white box normally used for rice. This is obviously the best way to reduce portion size. I had a few spoons I added to the rice and rice and pea pods and put the rest in the fridge for the next day. The next day I spread it on a plate and heated it up. So, as I desperately searched for something beside rice and some shrimp I found one (count it) pea. a couple of very small (about 3/8 inch) pieces of onion. Vegetarians will be glad to hear I could not find a speck of egg anywhere on the plate. I do not know what they used to make the rice pale yellow but pretty sure it was not saffron and it was pretty much flavorless. So tonight I will try a new place and hope for...
Read moreRetired a few years ago and this was a weekly stop for lunch when I was working and my office was nearby. The food and service were predictably great. Since I hadn’t eaten there in several years I decided to try it today. Very disappointed. There were no other diners while I was there (red flag) and only one carry out customer came in the whole time. The place felt dirty and there were supplies stacked in seats. Numerous hand-written signs covered the walls. The food arrived on a paper plate and came with a plastic fork. When I dine in I expect plates and silverware at the minimum. This is not the mall food court. The food was tasteless except for the “medium spicy” I requested. Noodles were overcooked to the point they were soggy. The usual staff was no longer there and the new staff have apparently made some changes that have contributed to a decline. I still left a generous tip because I know the restaurant business is hard work. But… If you’re looking for a nice lunch with good food, good service and a little atmosphere, this isn’t it....
Read moreWas quoted 25 minutes when the food would be ready for pickup. When I arrived after 30 minutes I had to wait an additional 15 minutes just to tell them I was there to pickup. When I told them I was there to pickup my order they were unable to find any record of it. After an additional 10 minutes of them searching they finally found the order info. I paid for the order, then had to wait an additional 10 minutes for them to bring it to me. Finally after over double the quoted time I got to head home. Once we ate we noticed that there were literally just a few pieces of chicken in my Kung Pao chicken and it just didn't taste good like it used to. Between the bland food, and some of the other stuff we got was dry and tasted like it'd been out for a long time, I feel like they've really gone downhill at this location. What used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant is now on the bottom of our list in the future. This restaurant is walking distance from our home and I would much rather drive right past it to go to another restaurant a...
