In the last year, they've really struggled with getting food out in timely manner, at least every time I choose to go. I'm not sure what is going on but I think it is mostly staffing issues, resulting in training issues and maybe even management issues. I don't want to rate super low stars, as the food is usually satisfactory. The drive thru is usually lined up around early dinner time, as can be expected, especially on Tuesdays with the dollar coney deals. Seems like when I choose the car hop, I wait long time, or when I choose drive, I wait there in a line forever. Maybe neither is truly faster, but this last time I went around 7 and there were maybe 2 or 3 cars in car hops. I was 1st in line at drive thru. I ordered 6 dogs and one side of onion rings. About 3 cars end up behind me. I get told to pull around to park, with a # tag. As I sit there, multiple orders are passed out from drive thru. I think, maybe I'm waiting on onion rings- I'm okay with fresh food for a short wait. Worker comes out as I'm messing with the # on my window and she asked if I got a COD basket? Nope. Car next to me gets their cod basket and they pulled around about 5 minutes after me. Started to get frustrated. I'm looking inside and not sure what is taking so long, but at one point they seemed pretty questionable and confused. One lady with blue sweater & long blonde hair had her hair completely down and NO hair net. She looked to be mostly checking orders, but usually if you're IN the kitchen, you're hair should be more kept than it looked. The drive thru girl who took my order was so kind and seemed to be the only one who knew what was going on with me, as FINALLY when my son was on his way inside to ask what is taking so long, she was on her way out. She apologized and offered free dessert coupons and was so empathetic. (Good job, girl!) Apparently my food had been done but was overlooked by everyone, even the manager, besides the one taking in orders. It took time because she was busy taking orders and probably wasn't meant to be the food runner too. I recommend to the owners to keep an eye on the issue if there are multiple complaints of long wait times. I don't think anyone should dismiss this as a good place to go, because I know staffing is causing a lot of issues currently in our economy, so be patient and kind while they work out the kinks. However, I thought that her having me pull around may have been a new solution effort they were trying, but for me, it did not work out. It should NOT take 15-20 minutes to get 2 hot dogs, 2 coney dogs and 2 chilli dogs with one order of orings, especially on a day that the coney...
Read moreNormally, if I would have not seen the total picture of this restaurant I would have gave it a 1 star. But today my experience was a little different. I went to a fast food restaurant that made me wish I was on a episode of undercover boss. I say this because I have not idea the girls name just that she was 5 months pregnant. But this girl who was a manager made me see that there was a honest hard working person behind the counter. She was only 1 of 3 people working and let me tell you they were working. There was a huge rush at about the time I came in. But despite call ins those 3 people ran a restaurant better than most. Yes they has some bad moments. But they stood up for a job that didn't show they cared very much for them. Those 3 people ran a drive through window, a dine in restaurant, and a curbside service as well better than a fully staffed restaurant. I felt like the girl who served us was very hard working and customer oriented. Yes things took longer than you would like but the hard work and dedication I saw to the job made the wait worth while. I would rather have genuine slower time service then wait for terrible customer service. I highly recommend good things to the 3 people I saw kick butt tonight. They deserve something...
Read moreThe reopening of this fast food joint was definitely a success. It was busy in the drive through, but I got my order very quickly with such polite service.
My food was fresh, hot and very delicious. The onion rings with the hot papa sauce is my favorite. The coney dogs are my favorite brand of dog and the bun wasn’t stale.
My double cheeseburgers have always been hot, amazing and hands down convinced me to become a weekly customer.
I’m so happy to have an A&W back in our town, the atmosphere of the car ports and friendly service really drives home the great hospitality. My orders haven’t been gotten wrong, I never have to worry if my sauce is in the bag, the breads aren’t stale and I feel like my meals are truly made to order.
Also, the root beer floats as a substitute for the drink in the meals is 1000% worth it. I recommend anyone to come check them out. I also ordered quite a bit of food and it cost less than going to some other places...
