I remember when this store opened back in 2017, it was a helping hand store, a diamond in the ruff now it is very commercialized and only have a few items that are reasonable (example one lemon cost one dollars when you can get two lemon for a dollar at Walmart. Most of the items are off- brand and they don't complete with dollars tree. The bonus items are just ok for me it was a helping hand store in 2017 but now it is a money hungry store.Let me tell you about the Manager which is an older lady she has a very bad attitude which needs an adjustment , I don't think that she is a Christian but if she is then she needs much praying for, she jump all over me because I went into the store and set on a bench waiting for it to open because the door was open and another lady was setting on the bench with me she told me off and I didn't say anything to her this is the third time she did this to me she thinks that she own the store and she has a very bad nasty attitude working at a Lutheran store, she don't show any love when she is talking too you no smile just an mean old lady who is very rude. i don't go there like I used to because the price is higher then Walmart plus they don't have to much in the store that I need to buy .I gave the store a one star because once it was a very good store to shop at but now it went bad because of greed. The staff's is nice but the old lady the manger she nasty and I hope that...
Read moreThe Bridge Food Center is an outreach program of Messiah ministries dedicated to "providing the opportunity for people to purchase healthy foods at wholesale prices." It is a small store so the selections is limited. Even so they pack a lot of goods in there: cereals, canned goods, chips, crackers, and cookies, produce, cheese, and meats. Probably the biggest deficiency is that there is no milk at this time. In the interest of lower prices there are many off-brands. The store is neat, brightly lit, and well-organized; though very utilitarian, it's still a very pleasant atmosphere. Prices are generally good; on some items they are exceptional (especially the frozen meats). Plus you get free items with each purchase, including soups and other canned goods, breads and produce; larger purchases get more free items. The staff are all volunteers and are super friendly and helpful. We love coming here and we think...
Read moreThis store is meant to help families that don't meet poverty level income guidelines, but make under $72,000 per year. I am always pleasantly surprised what they have and can usually get the majority of my shopping done. It's definitely a relief on the pocketbook! As an added bonus, you always walk out with free items (the number changes depending on how much you spend).
The staff is always nice and very helpful. For anyone concerned about the registration process, it's very easy. There are no intrusive questions and no requirements to prove your income. They ask basic questions (likely so they can use reporting for qualifying for grants and the like): name, city/township where you live, number of people in your household, number of seniors, number of children,...
