Used to be one of my favorites. I took my mother here after I had surgery. It was my first place I went after my surgery. We were seated and ordered our food and drinks. I ordered the hot chocolate. My mom ordered coffee. After she took 1 sip, she said it tastes old. I said okay put it here at the edge of the table. We waited a bit for our server to come through. But 2 servers came through. So I asked if they could get our server because my mom said her coffee tastes old. As soon as I said that, one of the servers started to talk over me. She talked very loudly. Wouldn't stop to listen. She kept on walking, stating that they made a new pot every couple of minutes and it was not old. She kept talking and showed her back to me as she walked away with the other server. I thought, "WOW!" That did not just happen. How rude. I never said the coffee was old! I said my mom said it tasted old! Anyway, our server came back asking if we wanted a new cup of coffee. I said no. We just want the check. Our server was so nice about the whole thing. She said that the girl was a manager. 😳 So she would get us the head manager, who was also very nice and said my hot chocolate was on the house. I can not believe a manager treated us that way, all the while training someone new! People need to take a look and not be so desperate to promote. She clearly is not manager material! I had to edit this post from 4...
Read more0 stars actually. The food that we got was sub-par but the service was beyond awful. The server brought our appetizer but we then had to ask for our drinks, which showed up incorrectly. Then, when we asked about our 7 dinners, our server asked what we ordered... 🤔. 5 of our 7 dinners eventually came, he said the others would be right out. My youngest ordered a quesadilla, I asked for salsa or sour cream & told they were out. 10 minutes later I had to go to the server station to ask about our other 2 meals to find out they'd never been made. Since my husband was finished eating I told him to forget mine but my other daughter was hungry & still wanted hers. ... Another 5 or 10 minutes went by & I went up & asked again & both of our dinners were under the heat light, I had to ask if that was for our table & rudely told "maybe".. I told them my daughter was still waiting & went back to our table. They brought both, I said I wasn't paying for mine, we had been there nearly an hour by now, everyone else in our party was done eating, so they picked mine up & threw it out. Our server never once offered to refill our drinks. After asking for the Manager she offered to take my meal off our bill. That was good since I never ate. We used to love Big Boy but Midland Big Boy needs to close like the others unfortunately have....
Read moreThe service was great! Our waitress & hostess was polite & helpful! They are the only reason for 3 stars. The manager (Kate) is the reason for missing 2 stars.
I ordered a meat lovers omelette, what I got was meat and cheese on a plate with a egg pancake adorned with a strip of bacon. My order of hasbrowns, and my mothers, were still raw! Yup, raw potato shreds is what was served.
Our server was polite and felt that this should be addressed with the manager. Kate introduced herself, no kindness, just looked as if we interupted her. I began to explain the omeltte & she cut me off with "obvisouly you ate it, so they're is no discount". I than explained the hashbrowns even showing her, along with my mother even showing her also. She than states we can have a discount for that.. with me saying I am not here for free food and her walking away from me still speaking to her.. I than watched her walk up to our smiling busy waitress, say something and our busy waitress was no longer smiling, very unproffesional!
Our waitress brought us our new check, and was not smiling, but still kind and apologizing for her service! I stopped her and told her that the service was great & tipped her all the cash in my pocket! She was smiling again & told me Kate had said that we just wanted free food!
How many people does Kate run...
