Came today for dinner. Normally the wait staff is pleasant and welcoming. Today it was three girls just sitting up there. When we were seated and sitting in our booth. One of the girls came and told us “you can’t sit here the bench is broken and we don’t want our boss to get mad”. Very professional. If it’s broken out a sign on it. Or you know don’t wait till after you seated us here to move us?

Then our waiter comes gets us drinks. We put our order in at the same time. After some time the waiter brings out a gumbo and said “this is all I got” then over thirty minutes go by. No drink refills despite making eye contact or even trying to get ahold of the dude. Which again he never came by. When he finally came by he said “I don’t know they won’t tell me when it’s coming.”

Alright… another twenty goes by. We asked the front girl if she could find our waiter because this was taking forever. Or if there was something wrong. She said she wasn’t aware of it. And would find him. Then we proceeded to watch her go back to her friends. No mention to the waiter. We had to track him down. To which he goes “I don’t know” and tries to leave. Never refilled drinks. Never bothered to check on the order submitted. In which we told him to find out. Which put him off even more. Eventually we just left.

The employees tonight were god awful. No apologies for the moving. No apology for the delay. If the dude came and said “hey I am so sorry, the kitchen is behind or say the order was lost” it wouldn’t have been a big deal. Being honest would’ve gone a long way.

These employees we encountered today were extremely unprofessional rude. And full of themselves. Attitude goes a long way. Courtesy goes a long way. After 11 years of being a loyal customer. We aren’t sure if we ever...

Had to write this review while it’s fresh, I travel and eat all over the country and if you love real homemade, down to earth Texas cooking then you have got to stop here and eat. The place is great, from the service to the food, I was seated promptly and was able to order my drink, my server came back after I had time to look at the appetizers and some of the other menu items. I ordered the Stingers which are jalapeños stuffed with a catfish and shrimp that was then breaded (that’s one thing they could do different is less batter on the jalapeños but either way they we crispy and delicious and the flavors were amazing. For dinner I ordered the Grilled Seafood which was the blackened catfish, pan seared catfish and shrimp brochette served with their green beans and hickory bacon, seasoned rice and crispy hush puppies. First the fish was done perfectly, s little bit of crisp on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside, perfectly seasoned and don’t ruin it by using tarter sauces you will appreciate the natural flavors and seasoning. The shrimp was wrapped in hickory bacon and done to perfection also, fall off the tail and tender, the hush puppies also excellent, nice and crispy with a soft inside. The rice was cooked to near perfection also, my server was attentive but not smothering, after my food was delivered check back in a timely manner to see how things tasted and if he could get me anything else. I also ordered the peach cobbler to go for dessert, if you want really excellent service and food when you are in Midland then this is a must stop and eat, they have great menu choices and something for everyone. Kudos to the manager...

So my daughter and I are traveling across the country and are staying in Midland. We chose this restaurant off a list the hotel gave us. We looked at their website and reviews. Seemed ok. Upon arriving it was packed, it looked like every resident in Midland was there....we are thinking this is a great sign! The wait was short for a busy Friday night. We ordered cheese sticks for appetizers. They came out luke warm, no biggie, but not really good. Ok, so we ordered chicken fried chicken. BTW......this meal is the biggest meal ever...share! Wish we would have been told about how big it was. I asked for an accommodation and the waitress said no and I suggested she ask her manager. She said he would say no. (The accommodation was that I didn't want any of their sides that came with the meal but a side salad instead.....mind you I do this every where and have never had a restaurant deny me that switch at the same price but there is always a first as in this case. I just paid for the salad as well, just a bit disappointing). We thought the food looked well presented but tasted like a frozen chicken patty and couldn't figure out why because it didn't look like it. So why the 1 star rating.....upon leaving as we stood up our cloths failed to join us. I am not kidding in the least little bit, we had to peel our clothing off of the chairs before we could get away from the table. THAT IS GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure what it was but it was on both chairs and it made our experience at this restaurant end on a...

This review is tough for me. On one hand, I want to give Cold Springs five stars, but on the other, I feel they deserve no stars. I arrived with my party of two at Clear Springs on a Saturday night at about 9:15, forty-five minutes before closing time. The hostess, seemingly annoyed at our patronage, looked over the dining area at several empty tables and told me there would be a twenty to twenty-five minute wait. A clear attempt at persuading me to leave. I called her bluff and said that would be alright. We sat in the waiting area while the hostess and several members of the wait staff sat around laughing and joking. After 10 minutes, having watched several parties leave the restaurant, I again approached the hostess stand and asked to be seated. Again we were subjected to a very unfriendly attitude, complete with rolled eyes and fun things mumbled under the hostess's breath, but we were seated and served. Now.. the thing that makes this review tough is that EVERYTHING else I experienced at Cold Springs was in great juxtaposition to this treatment. Our waitress was friendly and polite, and seemed happy to help at every opportunity. The food was great, and the prices are also good. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy, as well. I don't know if I'll go back to this establishment, on account of the hostess. But who knows.

I came here excited to try it out on a recommendation from a close friend. The atmosphere is cool barnyard country style with lots to look at while you wait. They have a very large bar and plenty of employees moving around. I ordered the Charbroiled Mahi with Coleslaw and Pinto Beans. I also started with a cup of the Jalapeño Crawfish Chowder. Chowder was great and my favorite of the night. It has a great flavor and a definite kick of heat that I really enjoyed. The Charbroiled Mahi was marginal. It was tough, over cooked and a had very weird flavor. The Coleslaw is ok but I would say just about flavorless. Just enough dressing to barely taste it. The Pinto Beans were very good and worth getting again. My biggest disappointment was the portion size. The sides come in small plastic cup much like a child’s medicine measuring cup. The Mahi wasnt very big for its price either. For the 30 price tag I expect to be full not looking for a near by fast food restaurant to fill up the rest of the way. It is worth revisiting because I hear great things about the fried things like Chicken Tenders and Onion Rings. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.
