EL CAPITÁN — Restaurant in Midland

EL CAPITAN MEXICN RESTAURANT, MIDLAND, TX Well lets Jump to Visit 5 with a Friend who invited me after they won a ticket for a free meal BTW This is the last time I will there free or not! Read on.. A Friend wins a Ticket on the Radio show and invites me, someone who has heard me on the Radio and meet at a gun show in Midland, So he orders Steak and Shrimp, I was not that hungry so I order Tacos $15, His meal was $37 You know where this is going? I get the bill for mine and I am paying $37 plus Tax $43 WTF??? what a rip off, if the restaurant was doing that bad to rip people off like that, put out a Donation Box, maybe they should have mentioned they were going to do that and I would have got nothing, all I can say is, I hope ripping me of the extra $20 was worth it because I will never go there or recommend EL Capitan to anyone and to think AND A THEY PROBALY BILLED THE RADIO STATION FOR THE $43 MEAL. I didn't experience any problems, service was fine by me. They didn't have blaring music so u can't hear yourself talk, they were very nice, I had Cameron's al la Diabla, delicious, food was hot and corn tortillas so fresh. CWO3 Ian Michael Garland

2nd Visit 4/7/2024 Dinner Been hear about the Mango Ceviche , so I decided to try for dinner and I was greeted by the owner, very nice guy, I said I had heard about El Capitan on KWEL Radio, I asked for Pulpo on the ceviche, It was a plate full and delicious, all under$20, so much flavor. 3rd Visit coming up this week, as for the negative reviews, they are plants, and they need to learn to spell and grammar would be a plus, just ignore them. When first opened great atmosphere great food great customer service my wife n me went last night only us two there at 8 I asked if they were going to close so we could leave because I understand that situation he said open till 11 pm we ordered food to go because I had got off work late but drank a beer and two shots each they brought us our food so fast no bag I ordered a side of queso and guacamole 🥑 n chips once again only us two in the restaurant bill came out to 107. N change paid 120 keep rest for tip left got home no queso and no fish in the ceviche . Called in morning and owner was the one who made my order acknowledged they were wrong and when my wife went to get what we didn’t get they embarrassed her in front of the other two customers they had took me having to go after work to remind them that it was never about the food or a mistake it’s how they handled the mistake and sadly why this restaurant is...

Came for the first time tonight & was disappointed, the food was ok, but just ok. My husband got the beef fajita nachos and they had almost no cheese at all on them. I got breakfast, I love it when restaurants have breakfast at supper but this was not very good, the eggs were over cooked & very salty. The other thing that was a problem is they charge a fee for using your credit card, now I know a lot of places are starting to do this but it’s a problem for me & I avoid places that do this unless I have cash. All that being said I don’t think we’ll be back any time soon, I can get better, less expensive food & more of it at...
