In a word: sensational!
Not much to look at from the outside, didn't thrill me or put me off. Didn't look like an Indian Restaurant to be honest.
The wife and I were looking for something beyond the boring Applebees or burger joint.
We were not disappointed.
Immediately seated, host wasn't thrilled to see us or all that friendly. Something she should probably work on.
The menu was extensive and had all the favorites.
Several larger platters with a variety of items together was delightful. We opted for the tandori platter with fish, shrimp, and chicken and a bed of salad served with basmati rice.
Rice was perfectly prepared. The tandori items were a little spicy and wonderful.
The samosas were exceptional. We ordered four, they were THAT GOOD!
We ordered a selection of nan with cream cheese, peppers, and garlic. There were other varieties we'll try next time.
Sauces came with everything. The mint sauce was very refreshing and summery while the chutney puree (with apple?) was very good on everything. The tandori came with its own orange sauce I'd eat with everything.
The food was delivered very quickly and piping hot.
The restaurant space was clean and well kept but a bit on the dark side.
Mens' bathroom was spotless.
My water glass went empty 1/3 of the way through the meal which is unfortunate. The server didn't come by to ask us how we were doing or refill my water glass. Same issue, hostess needs to work on a welcoming and hospitable presence.
4 stars, we will return and try other dishes.
I'm deducting a star for the cool reception. Will happily update and improve the review if the service...
Read moreI arrived on a Friday evening at 6:30 pm for a pickup order that I waited 35 minutes for when the app said the pickup time was 6:29 pm. Obviously it was not ready. While waiting for my order, there were 3 Doordasher’s waiting and 2 customers with to-go orders waiting. The restaurant was busy and as I sat there waiting I observed these things…. There were two servers a man who only waited tables and a young woman waiting tables and also running the register taking payment with cash and cards, filling up drinks, by pitcher containers and individual plastic red cups. I observed her filling up a cup with ice and soda, because of the fizz on top, the cup wasn’t as full, instead of waiting for fizz to go down on its own, she blew with her mouth into the cup her breath over the carbonated drink so that the fizz went down in order for her to fill more soda into the glass. She would take it to the customers table and she then serviced another tables bill and receipt. She would clear tables taking the plates and silverware to their dumping carts. She would get something on her plastic gloves and instead of changing into a new pair she would go to the kitchen sink which you can view from the door, wash her gloves and dry with a brown paper towel. Neither of the waiters had aprons on.
I would also like to mention that there were several customers that came in to order, and there order was completed very quickly as the Door dash orders took a long time to be completed. In fact the DD waiting on the order for Andy left canceled the order. I was waiting for a Kathryn order arrived on time and...
Read moreWe had a party of 6 and came in on New Year's Eve. The food was good. The service was terrible. The restaurant has been open for enough time for service issues to be worked out. THERE were only 2 other parties in the restaurant. What was wrong? Forgotten items on our order, we had all almost finished eating and my wife still had not received her order... we said something to the kitchen person who was delivering other late items... and it still took another 10-15 minutes? 1 order, the tandoori platter, was delivered very fast about 10 minutes before other orders started to come out. Orders came out and were placed at the end of the table rather than at the place of the individuals who ordered them... At the beginning of our experience, the plates were just placed at the end of the table... we had to distribute them ourselves. Water was brought out sporadically, the waitress was busy cleaning tables after other customers left rather than assisting us when we were the ONLY customers in the restaurant. I said items were forgotten like the Naan which should have been delivered at the beginning of the main course and the pickle relish which we had to remind our server we had ordered. The server did pick up some plates ... before we were finished eating... then when we were finished we had the rest of the plates sit on our table for minutes and minutes... then she brought our check before we had a chance to consider dessert....
The restaurant does a good lunch buffet. But we will not be going there for...
