We have previously had wonderful experiences with Longhorn, 5/5 customer service, overall cleanliness and quality of the food which is honestly hard to find many places in Midland. We visited two months ago right after they reopened dine-in for the Midland location and enjoyed a fantastic date night. Tonight was a horrific experience for multiple reasons. We joined the virtual line through the app after arriving at the restaurant and seeing many people waiting outside. We were given a wait time of 30 minutes in the app and received multiple messages that we were added to the wait list. After 30 minutes, we checked in with the hostess inside who informed us that we needed to come into the restaurant to check-in and be actually added to the wait list which would be another 20 minutes at least. Despite the long wait, we decided to stick it out because of the great food and amazing service that we had always received. We were not called or messaged when our table was ready and went back in to check after 30 minutes passed. The manager claimed that they had tried to call and message us with no response but we were practically glued to the phone waiting for any sign. We decide to write off the seating fumble as a glitch with the app and proceeded to wait for any sign of a waiter or staff member to acknowledge our presence for 15 minutes. Our waiter, Joel, was fairly new and was really doing his best but really needed someone to shadow which may not have been possible with the Friday night rush. He tried to quickly get drinks and bread out and checked in with us multiple times to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Unfortunately we noticed after the majority of the butter and bread was gone that someone had used a dirty dish for the butter and the sides and bottom of the dish were filled with crusted caramel. Not the worst thing ever but really gross! Our meal came out warm but it had been sitting for several minutes in the back and while the steaks were cooked to the requested medium rare, the flavors were not quite right. The bathrooms were in rough condition after using them during our visit and we had 4-5 fruit flies coming from the kitchen area that frequented our table during the meal. Josh came to entice us with desserts towards the end of our visit and left us our check. He offered to be our cashier for the evening but by that point we were more than ready to leave and opted to use the Longhorn app to complete our payment which we have used for our last four visits without issue. After receiving a payment confirmation from the app as well as a payment authorization notification from our bank, we headed out of the restaurant. We were about halfway to our vehicle when a manager came out of the restaurant trying to get our attention and informing us that our server notified him that we left without paying our tab. We showed him the Chase Sapphire Reserve payment notification authorized for Longhorn less than 5 minutes earlier and offered to come back into the restaurant to sort out the mix-up. He profusely apologized and told us that we were "all good" and that we didn't need to go back into the restaurant even when we offered to accompany him just to be sure. Long story short, our favorite restaurant has hit a really rough patch. Two months ago when we visited they were amazing! Honestly we will probably try back in 6-8 months after they have time to turn things around but what happened in two months to justify such a...
Read moreKeep in mind this was only a Tuesday... it was terrible after we passed the hostess stand, it was dark and uninviting like a dungeon. Was so loud you couldn't even hear the person across the table from you. This wouldn't be a good date night choice.... there was NO BREAD IN THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT (WE WEREN'T OFFERED A DIFFERENT OPTION OR A DISCOUNT) drinks were awful, used with Midland water... tea, drpepper, mixed drinks, the ice, everything... salads weren't any better, old browning wilted iceberg lettuce (no spring mix, or spinach, not really even green), ranch tasted strange, wasn't appealing at all... then the steaks smh..... 30 minutes later, my filet cut like a sirloin, was overcooked and cold, (never NOT ONCE did anyone ask us how our food tasted or how everything was... clearly they don't care) the manager wanted to cook it more to warm it up.... what a bright idea from a manager from a steakhouse smh. Guess he thought I wanted it well done.... wasn't even close to tender... on top of the tough coolness of my steak there was ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR!!!! seriously bland af... my father's steak was overcooked and flavorless as well.. I asked for a new steak, the tried recommending just cooking it more... I said no I'll take a new one thanx... Manager said it would take about 5 mins... didn't see the manager again until my dad was done eating and already had the check paid, at least 10 minutes later.... I will not be back to long horn steak house... regardless of location, was my first and last time. I'll go to saltgrass or texas road house.... don't waste your time or money folks... this is a typical place for Midland these days.... they do the bare minimum, put out poor quality food drinks etc, don't even have the decency to make the cheap stuff taste good smh and just expect it to be good enough... don't give places like this business... go somewhere that cares about they're customers enough to put out quality, tasty, hot food.... not bland cold poor quality bs And if you think your salad is gonna look like the one in their pic up there you're outta your damn mind.... they should have to take that down, that's...
Read moreComplaint too long for longhornsurvey.com family and I used to dine here regularly but have witnessed the decline of service and food quality since the odessa long horn opened up. Long horn app says there's no wait for 3 people so it doesn't allow you to join the wait list before arriving. We get there and are told the wait is about 25min. That it is "corporate error" that it says no wait time. Once we are seated my son needs to use the restroom and wash his hands. Take him to the restroom chairs hanging out in the middle of the walkway/entrance. Let my son use the mens. He can't reach the sink so I take him to the womens. Employee exits as we enter(should have seen that the bathroom needed tending to). Paper towel rolls sitting out on the counter. The automatic paper towel dispenser hanging open. Full trash can. Chalk it up to them being busy and don't think anything of it. I usually order the same thing every time we go. Which is why I'm so disappointed. Flos 6oz med-rare with brussel sprouts and strawberry pecan salad. Our server was nice enough but informed us that they were out of brussel sprouts. Out of brussel sprouts on a Friday night just before the weekend? Now I can't get one of my favorite dishes. That's okay, not the first time, order asparagus instead. We place our order. Salads come out. Yay delicious strawberry pecan salad. Except why is the plate hot?..and why is there iceberg lettuce and not spring blend? This is not my favorite salad. As my disappointment grew my expectations dropped. I'm not going to bring this up to my waiter because he brought it out in the first place dressing dripping over the sides of the plate and all. Maybe you guys are out of spring blend too. Makes me think whoever is ordering either isn't keeping up with their pars or has not adjusted for the holiday season. Moving on to receiving the main course. My MEDIUM-WELL steak and shriveled up excuses for asparagus were absolutely drowning in sauce. Absolutely disappointed with how far they...
