I've always had good experiences at Giorgio's ... until the other night. First, my party of three walked in and had to wait several minutes until the host even acknowledged us. He looked right at me and said nothing while he was busy cashing out a gift card customer. Then after that, instead of saying ANYTHING to us, he immediately started talking to a server about a DoorDash issue or something; meanwhile, other folks had come in behind us. I finally had to ask if we were supposed to check in somewhere else! After finally getting seated, we were greeted by maybe the most apathetic server I've ever encountered. When we ordered, I requested the zucchini noodles without feta and mentioned I'm vegan after she asked if I wanted protein. On the second or third bite I knew there was cheese in the dish - come to find out there is parmesan in the pesto - and we had to flag someone down. The host (or maybe he's a manager, which makes the beginning even more disappointing) came over and apologized but was a little weird about it ... "You didn't eat it, so we won't charge you". No, you shouldn't charge me because the server knew my dietary specifications and either wasn't aware of the ingredients in the dish or simply failed to inform me and/or notify the kitchen. Not sure I'd eat here if I had a food allergy! I didn't make a big deal about it but I was bummed out and ended up just continuing to munch on the hummus appetizer.
To wrap it up with a bow, towards the end the server started talking about the bread and how there's so much of it out back and how it's hard to resist, etc. Sorry but it's kind of unprofessional to talk about helping yourself to food that we patrons are paying money for.
Maybe it was an off night for them but I would be hesitant to return. The ambience was nice as always and my martinis were good but those were the only highlights. One person in my party was from out of town and it certainly wasn't a good...
Read moreThe food was exquisite and the environment and appearance and style of environment made you believe you where somewhere in that region of the country! I gave it four stars because I came about 9 and they close at 10. One of my pet pieves is having the staff clean and getting ready to close store when your eating is very rude and feel like you have to rush and also hear them clean doesn't make pleasant environment and enjoyable? My waitress was very good but in the beginning the service was lacking superb for the kind restaurant and exquisite food they cook which is put of world! But she forgot to give us bread cause she was to busy cleaning and kinda forgot us? When she was done she was excellent and came often? But I really hate restaurants who says they close at 10 but start at 9 doesn't make it feel pleasant when I worked at restaurant as cook when we close at 10 we close at 10 and started close after ten never before because it didn't leave nice feeling and where you spending money for excellent quality you want the whole experience 5 starts. Again I'm not so much about she forgetting bread till after we got meal but the feeling I got that I felt burden cause I got put work late and felt rush and the noises of people cleaning? But food was excellent, butter, bread; oil was exellent; environment and decorations and cleanliness and design was great? Music and setting was beyond top notch and food but I gave it 4 not five because of my pet peeve closing before you actually close especially when you trying to enjoy hard day work and feel like your noosense cause...
Read moreFor the past 10 years I have refrained from wiritng a negative review about Georgios...but today was the starw that broke the camels back!I have been a faithful customer for 12+ years, but shortly after I became a consistent patron, things started to go down hill.At first, staples were removed from the menu, then they started skimping, cutting back on sizes, proportions and quality, all along charging the same price. So I stopped ordering food, but still came becasue of their awesome bartenders and AMAZING martinis. Well, sadly today that will end. Georgio's has cut the ultimate corner, and as far as I'm concerned, this may be the last time I come to the beloved restaurant. The one thing that they are famous for is their martinis, people crowd the bar JUST for that. But Georgio's has sadly comitted the ultimate crime...They have changed ALL their martini glasses for 1.5 oz smaller ones! Forget the fact that these are hideous glases that would you see in grandma's china cabinet, but they brazenly charge you THE EXACT SAME price despite the smaller amount. Perhaps they thought no one would notice? How insulting. If this is what we come for, THIS is what we will definitely notcie! So long Georgio's. Your desire to save money by cutting corners and essentially robbing your faithful customers will end up causing you to lose money. The subtle decline in quality must finally be adressed. I encourage others who loved this restaurant to speak up and bring it back to what...
