I am the daughter and coming from a middle school kid standpoint, it was great. My mom says I am picky on my Mexican.. I've been to about ten great mexican restaurants and have only liked one other. And this place was even better. The taco meat was good (not super greasy and not spice) as well as the beans and rice. I also liked the questions with no jalepenos. But I know not everyone may have the same taste as me. The service was great. They were very fast. For the few minutes that I waited, they had a green area with some plants and a big tank with goldfish. They have a big menu and a lot to order, even some things I hadn't ever seen...on the dessert menu. It's perfect for if you just got off from a long drive and need a quick meal so you can rest. All in all, El Cerrito is my favorite Mexican restaurant, and a great place and I feel bad because my local restaurant used to be my favorite. My parents will be posting photos.

Went here with family for lunch. I ordered the El Pastor tacos with flour tortillas. They were very flavorful and tasty. There were 3 on my order and it was plenty of food as well as the other meals were that came out to family. We did have some cheese dip, chips and salsa and they were good as well. Staff was friendly and restaurant atmosphere was typical for Mexican. I did think the prices were a little higher than other Mexican places I’ve been but we all know the price of food continues to go up. If in the area, it was good enough that I would eat here again if in the mood for Mexican.

This is out favorite Mexican restaurant in the Montgomery area. The food is great. It's our go-to place for out-of-town guests who like authentic Mexican food, too. The menu is extensive and all tasty. In the cooler months, we have the chicken soup with shredded chicken, vegetables, and avocado. It's real chicken broth, not the kind that comes from a powdered cube. Here are two photos--one of the patio where we dine most of the time. It's spacious and breezy and in the other picture is a dish of the Mexican guacamole that we order every time.

So I’m beginning this with my family and I have been eating here for the past 9-10 years, we’ve come to know the workers quite well we loved Freddie and the ladies working always! We love some of the other gentlemen working here as well, but the owner/manager has had his last straw with me. I decided a few years back to bring my mother to my favorite restaurant(here) and the manager decided to take over for our server and placed both of our meals in front of my mom as a cruel joke. (My mom has been working hard to lose weight and in fact has lost over 200 pounds since this VERY experience) I quit going to eat for a year after this, my family ordered Togo and we went on because we didn’t appreciate the way he treated my mom. Fast forward we start eating inside again, the food is amazing always, service is great (we had the man with tattoos and we love him) and we continue going back. The last I went was around June so maybe he thought I was someone new coming this week and decided to treat our entire table like a “big” inconvenience. I took two of my friends to show them my favorite place once again, we had a female serving us at first who was more than polite and once again! The manager walks over and takes over, he keeps insisting the two women with me needed diet cokes, even after saying they had coke he continued to call it Diet Coke, still brought Dr Pepper back to one of the girls, and then takes our order. We tried to overlook the diet thing, but then when taking our order I ordered my REGULAR, the same thing I’ve eaten here the last 9-10 years which is a Botana, usually no onions, but that night I kept them. (This meal is a diet meal! It’s keto approved) and he looks at me asking me if it’s all for me or if I’m going to split it, I said no it’s my meals and this man rolled his eyes in disbelief at my meal and said “oh I’m sorry I thought you would share that” EXCUSE ME??

I don’t ever eat the entire meal, in fact I threw it in the trash when I got home I felt so shitty. I didn’t eat but a couple of bites in there because of the embarrassment he made our table feel. PLEASE DO BETTER. We’ve supported you guys for so long to have been made to feel that way. You guys closed during Covid and my family prayed you guys could get your doors back open! We truly feel let down by this! Shame...

This has to be the worst place/experience and food we have ever had and visited. We decided to try a place we had never tried before and so we decided give this place a chance. When we walked in the host greeted us she was very nice and that is pretty much were the good part ends. We were sat down and it took the waiter 10 minutes to come and take our drink orders, when he finally came he had an attitude and treated us like we were an inconvenience. We where a pretty big party (9) so we just left the wait time alone even though we were 1 of maybe 5 tables and he was not the only waiter. Then he disappeared and I wish I was exaggerating but it took another 20 minutes to come and take our order we did not receive any refills or even a check in from anyone else while we're waiting. He finally comes back and take out order and again has a whole attitude while taking the order, we waited an hour for our food, when we finally did get out food some other lady brought it out and it was cold, bland and you could tell it had been sitting for a while. When i was finally able to cut into my chicken breast to my surprise it was raw from the middle my husband (fajitas) were so cold that you could see the gristle on the meet, the cheese dip was cold and so were the tortillas and again we were never offered a refill on any of our drinks we were so disappointed that my rest of the family just kind of picked at the cold food and as for my raw chicken i was so over waiting i wasn't even hungry anymore and didn't have the time or strength to try and send it back or complain to the manager, i have a 3 month old and my only saving grace was that my baby was asleep the whole time 3 hours to be exact that we sat their waiting for us to receive horrible service and horrible food, and then they still had the nerve to tacked on the a tip for this awful waiter, I was going to dispute it with the manager but decided to just leave it alone and just never step food here again. I'm truly disappointed because we saw some really good review for this place before we stopped. I will add we were not the only ones discontent with the experience before we paid their was a gentleman in front us of complaining asking for the manager. Not sure what happened but our experience again was awful if I could would give them zero...

I recently moved to Prattville with my wife and we have tried 3 other Mexican places before this one (El Patron, Casitas, Mexico Tipico). I can honestly tell you this is the best Mexican food around here and possibly in the state of Alabama. We are connoisseurs of good Mexican food and are from a town where there are a plethora of Mexican restaurants. We frequent Mexican restaurants weekly, so I can assure you I know good Mexican food. This place beyond exceeded our expectations. Cheese dip is godly. Salsa deserves a Nobel peace prize. Margaritas were actual margaritas, made with fresh limes (mix-free). Verde sauce should be bottled and preserved for future generations to enjoy. Service rivals 5 star restaurants I've eaten at. The chef deserves 3 Michelin stars. Gustavo, the owner, is a class act and treated us like family. This review may seem comical but I am being dead serious. If you value good local restaurants, go spend your money at this palace. It deserves 10/10 stars but...
