Horrible experience with Vinnie's. Initially called to place my order at 5:45pm for two pies be told that that they would be able to have them by 7:30pm. No problem, I could wait and was going to be in Milburn anyway. Ordered one plain and one white with jalapenos. Was told that they do "not cook" with jalapenos, mind you they had just posted the same exact pie in their Instagram account a few days earlier. No big deal, just weird. We opted for different peppers.
I arrived promptly at Vinnie's at 7:30pm to see a line out the door and the store had quite a few people inside waiting. Mind you this is during COVID times, so patrons we're being mindful of not walking in and packing the place. I sat outside in line for about 10 minutes and the gentleman standing in front of me decided to call the store to check on his order as he couldn't get in. I thought great idea I'll do the same. I was placed on a hold that never ended. During this time the person I was with was able to get inside to check on the order. She stood at the front of the counter not being acknowledge for about five minutes. I then went inside to see what was going on.
I stood next to her at the counter for about another three to four minutes with zero acknowledgement that we were there. They were extremely busy, phones ringing off the hook. I get it - new hot pizza shop with tons of orders. You still need to speak to your customers and manage their expectations/communicate with them what is going on. At this point I tried to get the attention of one of the two girls working behind the counter/phone by politely saying "Excuse me?". One of the girls responded with "I'll get to you in a bit, we are very busy". Never looked up and just kept going about what she was doing. It's now about 7:50pm and still no pizza, no communication of what is going on with our order (on top of plenty of others waiting inside/outside).
We finally got acknowledged by one of the girls, gave her our name for her to check the order, pulled it out of a giant stack of orders and as as expected wasn't even being consider for being put in yet. I was very frustrated at this point and one of the gentleman preparing pizzas heard me speaking to the person I was with who promptly said "just refund them their money" in a very get them out of here, we don't need the business fashion. I wanted to leave, but the person I was with wanted the pizza still so pay we did. We hadn't even paid yet by the way.
The same gentleman that had said we should just get a refund and leave then expedited our order - it is now about 8:00 pm. Our two pies finally come out of the oven to us about 8:15pm - 45 minutes after the stated time. We get the pizza sit in the car and eat it so it was very fresh. You can tell it's quality ingredients, cheese and sauces were really nice. Unfortunately they tried to get the pizza in and out so fast the undercooked them. Pizza was extremely doughy and a total let down in that regards (picture attached). Had they cooked it for the appropriate amount of time I imagine it would have been a far better product.
They had taken way too many orders and props to the guys making the pies because they were going crazy. However, the business should have stopped taking orders if they couldn't handle it. You have a defined amount of space in the oven, it takes you however long to prepare and make them, don't exceed your limit so far that you have a stack of orders you can't even address. I would say wait until they sorted out their operations being a new business and try them out, but the lack of service and absolutely rude attitude they gave us will have me never coming...
Read moreSo we are heading back north and had not had any pizza or italian since the first day of our two week trip( Jim Roma's bakery in Binghamton n.y. had a 4.5 but it was garbage). Thank God Vinnie did not dissapoint! We called and ordered a cheese pizza a meatball sandwich and an eggplant parm sandwich. This was a Thursday about 2 and they said 25 minutes. Perfect we were 30 minutes out. So we parked on the right side of the road by the park and went and picked it up. The place was busy but no line. Everyone was friendly and professional they were whipping out some garlic knots. Place looked legit. They were / we ate the pizza at the park and it was on point. Thin/ excellent sauce and cheese/ the pan crust burnt cheese black on the edges is the best part. We about that pan life too/ we make pan pizza at home. We chowed that down with a little help from the pup real quick. Very good. We saved the sangs for later . Got to the telly and chomped down on some dam good sandwiches /eggplant was top notch so was the mballs/ bread was vg/ fresh mozzarella was a good choice/ my wife and I are familiar with excellent Italian food and this hit the mark no doubt. Don't let the low number of reviews fool you. You won't be dissapointed. Thanks Vinnie's and Jersey for...
Read moreAlways an amazing pizza at this spot. I recommend calling ahead about 20 min before coming here. Nice and friendly staff. Restaurant doesn't have a lot of seating inside but they do have a fee tables outside where you can sit and eat if you don't mind people walking by and cars going by. Pizza is terrific. 8.3 from me for sure. Would be higher on it if they could figure out how to make it a little crispier. Since it's made in a pan, the pizza doesn't get a chance to solidify the same way a traditional made pizza would. However, the flavors and ingredients here are top shelf. You can tell with every bite that everything is fresh and high quality. It does have a little more oil than i would normally prefer, but it works well with the pie. The crust is a top 5 crust I've ever had. The cheese and the oil kind of dry up there, which makes this an amazing last bite. Pizza is a must try if you are local and even worth driving to if you are not too far. Location is nice too. Cute town and some additional shopping places within walking distance or a park to sit and relax. I highly recommend this pizza gem, and I'm glad i found it. Will try some of the other menu items over time. Been here twice and went for my personal favorite, a cheese...
