Ugly Tuna Tavern — Restaurant in Millcreek Township

Update: still love this bar, perfect location, good vibes, Florida style bar, open and inviting, but still need to rehaul menu. $13 for a burger that doesn’t include fries and have to upcharge for $3.50 is crazy. So $16.50 for a burger and fries in Erie? lol might as well be a tourist spot then. there’s $8 burger and fries specials at other bars in Erie. If you want a regular crowd, which is possible, ya gotta have regular prices. Aside from that great service. Bartender really polite. Would love to be back on the reg as I’m at the peninsula constantly. There’s really no competition here- closed joe roots years ago (major shame) and other than that it’s Applebees and ridiculous overpriced tacky Romas.

Original: Almost got 5 stars! Which is very rare for me. Great specials especially tonight ($23 for a large pizza, 10 boneless and pitcher of Miller lite) pizza was great. More of a thin crust. Wings and sauces 10x better than Buffalo Wild Wings. Very saucy. Got the Ugly flavor and the Jack Blaze. Sooo good. Server was cool about splitting flavors per order. Food came out quick and our server Lindz was top notch polite and on top of things. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Small inside, but enough space to watch the game. Good crowd. Had game on and audio which is awesome. Although right speaker was fuzzy and muffled. Need to check that out. Could use at least one more TV on back wall. Love the fireplace. Docked a star for the 3% tacked on Service charge for all non cash payments and pricey Yuenling at $4 a short draft. Typically $2-$3 other bars depending. And fries not included in burger or sandwich price. Must add on. Overall a solid place and...

I called ahead to place a to-go order and was told it was an hour wait, which was fine and understandable. Immediately following, the employee on the phone said “they said it was okay for an hour wait and we require a credit card payment ahead of picking up the order” and as we went to give a credit card number immediately the blender started roaring over the phone. We didn’t hang up and so another round of blender started again. We sat a few more moments as the phone lay unattended and eventually hung up. A truthful “we are really busy right now and so we don’t feel suited to take to-go orders at this time” would have salvaged the situation if that is the case, instead of creating uncomfortable and awkward moments to see how long we would withstand their antics.

It’s been several years since I went to the Ugly Tuna and it may be a place that I avoid based on this senseless effort to be unappealing due to be overwhelmed. I hope any issues can get straightened out because the wings are good. The service is suspect at best due to the reality gameshow-esque efforts to see what would be endured to avoid...

Wife and I traveled from an hour and a half away with our infant and looked online and thought we would give them a chance. We arrived at around 12:30 on a Saturday and the facility was not very busy. We were told by an employee behind the bar to sit anywhere. We sat down at a 4 person table while our child was asleep in the car seat next to us. An employee walked up and told us that they were 21+ only on Saturdays. I was confused because my wife and I are both well over the age of 21 and our child doesn’t eat regular food yet and was asleep in their car seat. I asked if they were serious and was told that we needed to leave. I guess I can understand the 21+ rule to keep trouble down but seriously an infant in a car seat at lunch time!? This information should be added to your website to keep people who traveled from a decent distance from wasting their time. Puts a sour on the experience of trying...
