I'd leave 0 stars if i could but unfortunately i can't.
I experienced discrimination against myself and my service animal at Mason Farms today . Upon entering the establishment with my service dog,who assists me in managing Autism ,severe PTSD and seizure disorders,I was informed that my service animal was “not allowed” in the premises.
I calmly explained to the employee that my dog is a service animal as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and therefore is permitted to accompany me in public spaces where members of the public are allowed. The Department of Justice’s ADA regulations were also explained to this employee by me since she was not properly educated. You should take steps twords properly educating your employees.
Individuals with disabilities shall be permitted to be accompanied by their service animals in all areas of a place of public accommodation where members of the public are allowed to go.”
The employee then demanded “paperwork” for my service animal. She was then educated futher by me and informed that such a request is illegal under federal law. She was explained the following information.
The ADA prohibits businesses from requiring documentation, identification cards, or proof of training for service animals. She was alao informed of PROPER questions for a person with a service animal.
Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?
What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
No other inquiries ,especially demands for certification or paperwork, are lawful.
Despite my explanation, the employee continued to follow me throughout the store in a harassing manner. This caused significant distress, triggering a medical episode and prompting my service dog to perform a trained alert. The continued aggressive approach and verbal disrespect toward me and my service animal were unacceptable and in violation of my rights under the ADA. I advocated for myself and spoke out louder with her since she seemed uneducated on a medical crisis or how a dog is taught to alert . My dogs medical alert, calls my caregiver if they are not around me and at that time I was NOT WITH MY CAREGIVER in the same area nor did i feel comfortable enough to let my dogs leash go considering how the woman was treating us . My service animal.is also trained to find my caregiver silently in a safe environment but i was NOT safe with this employee aggressively harassing me .
This incident reflects not only a disregard for federal law but also a lack of training in accommodating individuals with disabilities.
I am also requesting that MASON FARMS ensure all staff receive ADA-compliant service animal training to prevent...
Read moreOn July 15 I stopped at the old french Road location. I met a blonde woman who was very helpful when I spoke to her. I wanted to buy some vegetables and some flowers and she reminded me of the sale they’re having. I’ve been there many times before. It was 1:45 PM and I was taking two large plants and my produce to the counter. I carried my plants to the Counter area. As I approached, a younger girl with black hair, who was running the register ,scolded me because the plants I’m purchasing were dripping water ! How is that my fault? Then she yelled out and said you know, we have carts here ! With or without a cart, they’re still going to leak water . I think she was mad because she had to clean the water up ? I said to her ,you know you could be more kind to me, and as I was saying that she yelled out, are you recording me on your phone ? What … ? I showed her my phone ,and said no I am not . She said if I was , she would be very very upset. I wasn’t , but it’s a public place. I was going to leave everything there and walk out, but I wanted my purchases. She took my money and immediately went to the back room . I loaded my car and left. I will never ,ever go there again. I’m a senior and I didn’t appreciate her attitude at all ! I wonder how many other customers she has done this to? She needs to be terminated or taken out of that position. I was shocked that she was so mean ! Especially to a customer ! I’m not sure if I’ll ever come back to Mason Farms again. But Im positive I’ll never go back to Old French Road. Miserable people like should not be speaking to the public . If I was in charge, she would be terminated. Thank you. ** Update 7/24/2025 I found the receipt in my vehicle and it says the employee ID is CCORTEZ . I checked out at 1:42 PM...
Read morePumpkintown costs $10 per child for the rides. And yet they are haphazardly thrown together. Kids have to take off their shoes to go in the bounce houses then run around on gravel and tarps, tripping on things, in order to get to the next bounce house. The staffing was sparse and unfriendly, and no one knew what was going on. An employee was blowing up a large inflatable decoration, not paying attention, knocks over an expensive speaker onto a guest at the birthday party we were attending, doesn't even notice this, accuses the poor woman of knocking over his 400 dollar speaker, complains to his supervisor, who then pulls this woman aside to blame her for breaking it. I went over to clarify the situation, and the guy said oh, well thanks for verifying her story, and doesn't even apologize to her! She asks to speak to the owner. I again explain to him what happened. His response was that it's all good because she didn't break the speaker and he doesn't apologize either! He just goes on to say that there are lots of things to trip on, and then leaves. That is completely ridiculous! This woman, who was walking with a cane, had a tall standing speaker fall on her through no fault of her own, was falsely accused, and then had the owner tell her to watch her step. Absolutely awful customer service! This was the first time I've been there, and I'm...
