OVERPRICED $$$$$.. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken. I added zucchini. I got it med spice. But asked for pepper side because i was worried it wouldb bland. It was bland! The worst was it was so watery. Thinner than water. I tried to take a photo of how thin my yellow curry was. There were no spices in it. The carrots ŵere thin little slices barely any. A few zucchini. Chicken was flavor less. Way too overpriced. curry should be like a comfort food. This was watered down water. They gave me a side of chilli pepper spice. It smelled so bad like some old pizzeria. It was awful. I Did not use it! Thai Time Resteraunt chef Sprite makes there own chili pepper thai spices in her resteraunt that smells so good and tastes so good you can tell it was just made fresh. My husband got massaman curry with beef. His beef was so tough you couldn't chew it and break it down. His was worse than mine. He barely ate. I found out this morning my husband got sick from his dinner. He was up all night throwing up. The worst part was without a tip for take out and just 2 curry dishes. 41.75 without a tip. Seriously. No joke. It's $$$$$$ So in my fridge is left overs because we could barely eat our dinner. Throw it out I guess tdy... we only went here because Thai Time was closed sun and Monday. They are the best Thai resteraunt in Salt Lake City hands down! I love there food. They're was nobody eating at Siam Orchid . It was dead. And my food was cold and took 25 min to make and resteraunt was empty. Never again...EVER. ID RATHER...
Read moreHands down one of the top Thai restaurants in Salt Lake City. Their staff is very friendly and personable, the restaurant has a positive and welcoming energy that you feel immediately upon your arrival. Even when they're busy their food always arrives quickly and is never lacking in quality. They have a very extensive list of vegan & vegetarian options and the way that they prepare their tofu is in my opinion the best in Utah. They're pricing is extremely affordable and they offer both pick up and delivery options.
I highly recommend Siam Orchid to any and all who consider it. There's not a week that goes by that my wife and I aren't there atleast twice. Their location alone is a testament to the exceptional quality of their food. Over the years the location has seen many different types of businesses all of which didn't last long. They're easy to find, but the area doesn't bode well for advertisement. Tucked back from 900 E on the East side of the Smiths located in the same district you can see why so many businesses have failed at that location. I even stated to my wife when we discovered it that "we'll see how long they last," that was over five years ago. I've lived in this part of town on and off for the better part of 15 years and Siam Orchid has outlasted every other business that has made an attempt to merely survive the location.
In conclusion I offer you a promise that you will not be disappointed with the quality of food they offer and your first visit will be...

The food and portions are as deceitful as a carnival game booth.
Their jasmine rice is very little of actual jasmine. They mix a small portion with your typical basic long grain. In other words… it tasted like minute rice and it was so diluted you can’t even smell the jasmine.
The curry was served in small bowls with large flat lips/rims to give the illusion this is a big bowl. Vegetables overcooked and diced in excessively large portions to “fill out” the food.
Soda machine broken, iced thai tea is confirmed to be the bottle kind you can buy at asian market. Lunch specials suspended.
Service was atrocious. Our waitress took 15 minutes to get to us while we were literally the only table in the whole restaurant. She was talking on her friend via AirPod the entire time.
There is a mandatory service charge added to every order.
I feel ashamed for tipping so poorly but, I figured if this is the most expensive Thai restaurant in Utah using the cheapest ingredients and skimping out on the ingredients they could use the money saved as a tip.
There isn’t anything this establishment can do to win back my service. Channon Thai Cafe and Chabaar are cheaper and far superior.
Never again, this was...
