PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. I usually don't leave reviews unless something is really bad or really good..... My experience was kind of nice surprise for me, as I am part owner of a long time local business and know how hard it can be at times to get things right. My first experience was sort of disappointing. but not because of the food or the service when I purchased it. My issue was that when I arrived home(food was ordered inside to go) I found that I did not receive my cole slaw or dipping sauce for my 7 piece chicken dinner that is supposed to be included in the meal. So being the cheapy that I am, I saved a couple of pieces of chicken and decided to go back the next day after work to see if I could get the slaw and sauce. When i got to the counter and was explaining my predicament to the cashier I noticed the manager(maybe owner) was listening, not hovering but paying attention. She stepped in, nodded her head as to understand. She then stepped behind a door to the kitchen .Mind you all I asked for was cole slaw and dipping sauce. She soon emerged and was carrying a dinner plate of 7 fresh pieces of chicken, french fries, bread, and yes, cole slaw and dipping sauce. I explained that I knew they had just opened and those types of things happened. She said, yeah but you ate that chicken last night, and gave me the complete meal. This is the type of customer service it takes to keep customers coming back. And lets face it, there are plenty of places here to eat out. but not many with excellent customer service. So... Read moreYesterday, I went to the drive-thru at Chick-fil-A; however, I decided the line was too long, so, on a last-minute whim, I decided to give Huey Magoo's a try. First, they forgot to put the pickles on my sandwich, no biggie, I drove back around to the drive through ordering window. I told the lady that they forgot the pickles. Instead of telling me to pull around park and they would bring me some, she said just wait in line and drive up to the second window. Sadly there were already six other cars in front of me so I waited again just to get my order corrected. Customer service tip: never and I do mean NEVER make your customer wait two times for your mistake. I noted the staff through the drivethru window were shabbily dressed and looking at their cell phones. Customer service tip number 2: Customers have eyes. We can see you. Your brand identity is what we see with our eyes. Secondly, I found the fries spicy but not particularly flavorful. Ok but nothing great. But I'm no fry expert, they were standard as far as fries go. I found the sandwich extremely hot but not particularly flavorful. The sauce had soaked into the bread making it far too soggy to hold with your hands. Again, nothing special taste-wise and a hot mess to eat. Finally, 45 minutes after eating, I fell ill with an attack of abdominal cramping and as one might deduce, a typical reaction to food poisoning. So lesson learned. Next time, wait in line at Chick-fil-A. If they can get it right, anybody can. It's just a matter of caring...
Read moreCatering: Do not use if you're catering a large event. Food was ready 50 MINUTES AFTER scheduled pick up time. It ruined my entire event. I work for a tax-free institution (school) and should not be charged tax with a form, which I had. HM wouldn't honor it without a tax number, which should not be required. I returned to this location after getting the tax number to get refunded. They wouldn't refund the tax (about $70). I told the GM multiple times that they ruined my event and even shorted me on the desserts. She was completely indifferent and only offered EXCUSES. She only apologized as I was leaving after being in the store for 20 minutes. She clearly did not want to try to make their faults right and had little to no customer services skills. I wanted to use their catering in the future but certainly won't now. I even said this to the GM and she could've cared less. Completely unapologetic. OH, AND the prices on their online catering menu are lower than when they ring it up - so you'll be charged more than you expect....
