My waitress was nice and kept checking on me until my friend got there. Majority of the tables were dirty and not stocked (sugars, pepper, etc.) even though there was only two occupied tables. Down time = Cleaning time!! When we ordered the food we informed we do not consume butter (he is highly allergic and I am vegan) and to ensure that there is no butter on any food. I also asked that my food not be cooked with PAM because it isn't vegan..... There was butter on my toast and it seemed to be on his hashbrowns as well via the color of 'grease' on the plate, and I was told 'no we can't do that because the food sticks' in reference to not using PAM. Having worked at IHOP and other restaurants in my lifetime, (different location) I know well and good that when requested for allergy reasons you MUST make sure to NOT include it and do whatever is necessary to avoid cross contamination. I also know that ANY and ALL requests to specificity of cooking is followed- meaning that all restaurants literally follow guests requests unless absolutely impossible, which not using PAM is possible (you just don't use it 👍🏽!). There was a small bit of avocado on my hashbrowns (asked on side for the toast), so I know they are not cooking/cutting properly according to the rules and regulations not only set forth by IHOP but set forth by the Food Handlers administration. I received 3 tiny pieces of avocado for two big pieces of sourdough toast.... that is unproportionate and part of it was brown. Thankfully, he did not end up in the hospital (Crohn's disease) and I didn't end up vomiting ( I do NOT consume animal products/byproducts)!!! It would be wise to retrain ALL employees especially on cross contamination because I know they can clean the grill as necessary to avoid allergens, which if I recall correctly the waitress should have gathered the manager on duty to handle an allergen table. Unless that was just my amazing manager thar wanted to do so and who is now district manager in her area... 🤷🏽♀️👍🏽 This is not an upset or angry review, simply informational for future visits similar to ours. Side note- you should add vegan dishes or make it easier for a...
Read moreI was a loyal Covington IHOP customer. I was one of those that never had a bad meal or experience. I only ever got their Spicy Poblano Omelet w/Gluten-free pancakes and it was DELICIOUS. Since their closure I have not went anywhere else, and finally we decided to head over to Millington. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food, but unfortunately when my order came out. It was the saddest omelet I have ever seen (even my spouses spinach omelet was sad). The fluffiness of the omelet was nowhere to be seen. It was missing the following Poblano cream, chopped poblano peppers (one little one was one the side), it didn't have avocado, or shredded cheese, I did not see any red bell pepper or onions. The meat was about a forkful, and it was so minimal, I could not even get enough to cover the omelet. The Gluten free pancakes are amazing at IHOP, their batter is amazing. The ones I received were sour, and bitter, almost like the batter went bad. I literally spit them out, spouse said they were awful. The waitress was super sweet, and got the manager. I asked him to taste the pancakes, manager did offer to remake the pancakes but I would have to wait 20min. ugh.. so I said no. I was already disappointed with omelet. He said he would take them off. Mind you, I am paying extra for gluten-free. They end up taking 10% off. Not nearly enough for what I was served. I would not post this, but the fact that I know what this dish should be, and how it should be served. We didn't even say anything about my husbands omelet. I wish I snapped a picture, these omelet were so flat. They need to hire the cook that was at Covington, and the waitress that was ALWAYS there even when they couldn't find anyone to work. I can't speak on anyone else's food, they seemed to be enjoying it. But I think this omelet is one not usually ordered, if they didn't have the ingredients for it, they should have said something. Same for the gluten free pancake batter. I would have waited initially for them if they didn't have batter made. I understand GF is not something people...
Read moreWe have been here 3 times since moving. First time was late at night and it was a horrible experience. Cold and old coffee, over cooked eggs (from the heat lamp to keep food warm), it took 45 minutes to get an omelette, scrambled eggs, hash browns and toast. Second time was when I had just gotten out of the hospital after being on a strict liquid diet for a week. We ordered so much food for only two people and our waiter was brand new. I'm kind of a pain to wait on because I'm particular but we tip extremely well as I've just left the restaurant industry with 13+years experience. I tripped him up a couple times asking for add ons and up charges and not ordering my drink until I decided if I wanted breakfast or something else. However, this man was over the top pleasant and courteous, fixed things when brought to his attention in a timely manner and most importantly his communication with time management to us had us completely enjoying ourselves! The last time was just a week and a half ago or so and we just as wonderful as our last trip. A female with super short hair whose skills reflected she has been there for a good bit of time. We ordered, again with up charges and add ons but she said there was a combo that had everything we wanted that would end up cheaper. We had the works ordered again with almost a $50 bill with the tip included because good service is hard to come by and it deserves to be recognized! I applaud the IHOP in Millington for finding people that seem to actually love their job and understand what the true meaning of hospitality is. We've felt at home so to say with our last two experiences. Btw, both were during dinner hours 4&6. Thanks again IHOP team for showing true colors and keeping us as customers. After showing us that our first visit was a fluke and sometimes everyone has days that are bad. I'm glad you all reeled us back in!...
