Called 2 days beforehand to have an order ready for pickup on Christmas Eve so that I could get to my workplace by 6:00am.
FYI: My workplace was having a staff potluck and i thought it'd be a great idea to get a traveler of the Starbucks light roast (Blonde) for the morning crew.
The first barista told me that this location would be open at 5am on Christmas Eve and that I could call at 5:30am that morning to have the order ready by 5:45am. She then took my name and number so that I could be written in their appointment book. The next morning, I checked online to see what their holiday schedule was and noticed that they were opening at 6am instead of 5am so to confirm my order, I called again and the barista that time said that they'd be open at 6am indeed. I immediately informed her that I arranged to pick up my order at 5:45am so that I could be at work by 6am and asked if I could pick it up at 5:55am instead, since they were opening at 6 instead of 5. She said sure and even confirmed that my name was in the appointment book with the original notes. She promised that she'd update the notes saying that I'd arrive at 5:55am and that I didn't need to call but the order would be ready for me when I got there. The morning comes for me to pick up my order and I arrived at 5:55am, as promised. The staff was inside and even acknowledged me from behind the counter but instead of actually coming to the door, one female barista gave hand signals that looked like she meant they were opening at 6.
I gave hand signals back meaning that I had an order to pick up and wouldn't stop. She eventually came to the door (obviously irritated) and upon opening the door, she said (without a smile), "we don't open until 6". I responded, "I'm fully aware but I have an order to pick up and your staff said that I could do so at 5:55". She cut me off and said "but I can't let you in until 6" and immediately slammed the door, locking it behind her and turning away (as if I was being inconsiderate). That's definitely NOT good customer service. I wouldn't have come up there early if I wasn't told by staff that I could. The note was made incorrectly by the staff, not by me being inconsiderate. At 6 on the dot, the store opened and instead of the same female coming to the door, she sent another barista to open. Go figure. My order, the traveler, was ready but when asked if I would leave a tip, I declined. There was plenty of sweeteners but the stirrers and cup lids were not included and the coffee type wasn't labeled nor was it confirmed that it was indeed the Blonde roast. I guess I just had to assume it was what I ordered. They didn't even ask who I was! It was very weird. There were other customers with me or I would've expressed my disappointment with the transaction. I don't know what crawled up that girl's leg on Christmas Eve but I wasn't impressed with the customer service that she displayed at all. Slamming the door in a paying customer's face is terrible, especially one that frequents that location. I sure hope her day got better. Because of this experience, I won't be arranging to have orders picked up from this location any time soon and I won't recommend anyone to try and call ahead either. It's better just to wait until the sun comes up, I...
Read moreThis is hands down the worst Starbucks in Memphis and surrounding areas. Extremely slow, orders rarely right. Today was the last time I will order from this location. I worked off of poplar before and would go 5-6 times a week. Now I'll either have to not go at all or go completely out of my way in the mornings. Today's encounter was the most passive aggressive thing I've ever experienced anywhere in my life and I can't believe they let their employees act the way they do. I went through the drive thru and ordered a Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino with caramel in the cup and on top. The guy repeats my order back and doesn't mention the caramel so I repeat that part a second time and he tells me he's got it. Cool, great. I'm in line a little over 30 minutes and finally get to the window and he hands me my drink and there is a little bit of caramel on top, that's it. It's an extra charge for the caramel and the line was long so I pulled around to go in and have it corrected. There were about 8 people behind the counter, two said hi and then pretended to be busy (one kept tightening the whip cream container over and over and just standing by the register type of busy). After a few minutes of them all just looking back and forth at each other one finally asks what I'd like and I tell her my drink is wrong. I wanted the caramel in the cup...no problem. She asks if it's ok to pour the made drink into a new cup with the caramel and I was fine with it. I didn't need a whole new drink. So she starts putting caramel in a cup and just doesn't stop. Then she starts to tell me to say when and I tell her it's good (at this point she's filled the cup with a good half inch and I had told her a couple of times it was enough) and she just keeps repeating it more and more aggressively and then tells me she'll just take the top off the caramel and dump it all in...then, with over 2 inches of caramel in the bottom and a cup completely covered with caramel she dumps my drink in and tries to hand it to me, no lid or anything. The girl that had been standing next to her tightening a sealed lid this entire time says something to her basically saying that's not a good drink to hand to a customer and she grabs another cup. Covers it in caramel again, only less this time, and dumps the drink and wad of caramel into the new cup. I let her know at this point I'd like a new drink. The entire time she's just giggling all over the place and apparently thought her actions were appropriate. She makes it just fine with no issue the third time. This encounter should have never happened. I hope they get someone there to train the staff at this location. I will...
Read moreAlright 3 days I have gotten a coffee and all 3 coffees have been short of well coffee. The first two I got were ventis and just how light it was you could tell it was short without opening it but never the less I opened it and it was easily short 5-8oz your coffee is already expensive but to not make sure that it is actually filled is ridiculous. One of them I guess they tried to hide it with the froth on top. So for the third one I went with a tall surely it would be fully filled but no it too was missing oz's about 3 of them and thr milk was burnt. Seriously what the hell. I go through the drive thru cause I am usually pretty busy and dont have much time. That tall coffee took well over 15 min and mind you, they were not busy I was the only one in the drive thru and only two people were inside. The other two also took a while to make. You would think that with all that time and not being busy they could at least make sure its full first and foremost second make sure the extra shot makes it into it third that they dont burn the milk and that it is made correctly. One of them tasted of pretty much just milk and in these I get an extra shot of expresso, one of the ventis they burnt the milk in. I stop here quite a bit probably almost 4-5 days a week because it is the only coffee shop. 5 out of 10 times its either tastes milky or burnt. A lot of times probably 7 out of 10times I am positive that the extra shot I paid for is not in there. You can tell when it has your extra shot. The only reason I am giving two stars is because the girl the other day made me a perfect Carmel macchiato so if I do decide to ever stop in, it will only be when she is working. I will get her name next time so people will know to go when she is working. Oh but if she is not working I will not be stopping in.
With paying so much for a cup of coffee it isn't to much to expect it to be made correctly
Oh and 2weeks ago they did not honor a 20% off I had. It said to redeem your next visit the girl at the window said they dont redeem those there that it was not a code they use. I showed her where it said to redeem in stores.
As you can see in the pic of the tall burnt coffee that already its not full I stuck my finger in and about another quarter inch below the froth is where you finally get to coffee. So at least 3 oz's from being...
