I went to Chinese Chef on 9/11. Mind you, I've been coming here since 1993. I ordered my usual, which is jumbo shrimp fried rice. This time was different. When I was getting ready to eat, I noticed the shrimp were smaller than usual. I immediately called them to have the issue resolved. I also sent pictures to show the size of the shrimp, and the worker agreed that they were not jumbo shrimp. She then offered me to come back to get my food remade, and I told her I lived far and wasn't coming back. She then offered me a "credit" for my food that would last for 3 months. So today, I went to order the food so I could receive the credit that was offered for their mistake. The worker told me I'll give you 15% off of your order😳. I said no, it was a full credit for your cooks' mistake. They literally argued with me about not giving me full credit. To make a long story short, I will never step foot into that place again as to how I was treated. I've spent way more than $39.00, and as many people that come there on a daily basis, keep that place in business, and they won't miss it. I'm very...
Read moreThis is the best shrimp chop suey (with chow mein noodles) I have ever had. I worked at a high end Chinese restaurant and it’s made me incredibly picky about Chinese food, but my family picked this up and I’m so happy I gave it a chance. It was phenomenal, and the shrimp were huge, fresh, and clean. I saw some bad reviews, and according to my family, they were regulars and the same chef was there for years but he ended up leaving and that’s when the place went downhill. Now he’s back and it’s returned to its former glory. If you had a bad experience, go back and try it again. TRUST ME. My 1 year old WILL NOT eat ANY vegetables or most meats. He DEVOURED this- the napa, bean sprouts, onions, shrimp- everything- and between the two of us, we got 6 meals out of it and it was as good at the end as it was when we first opened it. This will be a staple in our house...
Read moreSince I moved from Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2013 I've been in search of Shrimp in Lobster Sauce like Chinese Chef. I have failed to find a similar flavor in GA, FL and AZ. So, when my husband and son went to WI last week they brought Egg Foo Young and Shrimp in lobster sauce back. Unfortunately, it tastes nothing like I remember. Egg Foo Young was pretty good. The Shrimp in lobster sauce was so salty, the rue was lacking, not enough green onion and no pork. It's not the same like I use to enjoy; no love or soul in this dish. This restaurant has been a family restaurant since the 1960's and it's nothing like I enjoyed in the 80's to the 2000s. I imagine the people who cooked back then are retired and have left it to the grandchildren. Chinese Chef is just as basic as the others...
