Denny's — Restaurant in Milwaukee

I have to revise my previous review. I stopped at Denny's at 12:30 a.m. after I picked my mother up from the airport. If I could give ZERO stars, I would for this service.

We stood at the desk for 10 minutes waiting just to be greeted and sat down. The manager finally came out and sat us and another couple who had come in while we were waiting. He said the server would be right out. 10 minutes later, he took our drink order and brought the drinks.

I looked around while we waited for the server. There were 4 other tables in various stages of dining. Three two tops that had their food, and a four top that hadn't gotten their food yet.

The server brought the four top's food and went back into the kitchen, never even acknowledging us or the other couple who was sat at the same time as we were.

It is now 20 minutes after we were sat, the server is wandering around, ignoring the tables already in progress, and continuing to ignore us and the other table that still hadn't ordered. The manager was in the back, and there is a table with the most ill behaved children screaming since the time we walked in.

Finally, after waiting for 30 minutes to have our order taken, we got up to leave. I went to the register to pay for the soda we got. I looked in back, and there was only the cook. No server. No manager. There was a bus boy slowly wiping a booth in a closed section of the restaurant. I waited another 5 minutes at the register and left in frustration.

Absolutely the WORST SERVICE I have EVER received in the history of going to restaurants. I worked in the restaurant business for twenty years, so I am well aware that stuff happens, but there was no excuse suitable enough to explain what we experienced at this...

If I could put zero stars for this location, I would. We walked in, were pleasantly greeted by a kind individual...but this quickly went down hill. We didnt get a server for about ten minutes. Then finally..she showed up. Took our drink AND food order. Mind you this place was 3/4 empty. It took 20 mins to get 2 waters and 2 coffees and a smoothie. The coffee cup was SLATHERED with old spaghetti sauce or something. It was crusty to the touch. I asked for a new cup...our server didnt apologize or anything. Just said ok. You'll get a new one. Brought it... ok. Cool. Then out on a phone call..she send my friend out to re acquire my husbands order. ..after said server supposedly wrote it down.... simple eggs and pancakes.. hasbrowns..nothing crazy. Took forever. Then ...she brought my husband the wrong food. Eggs were over easy. He ordered scrambled with cheese. So further on... after this...I ask to speak to the manager. He(george..I believe) was dumb as a box of rocks. Then the server proceeded to argue with my husband about how many things have been wring from the jump. I am a server. I treat my customers way better than this. Or I wouldn't have a job. This location was absolute trash. Idk how such simple things could be butchered so poorly. Skip this dennys. Keep going cause this one will take up you're whole afternoon and you'll still leave unhappy. In almost 30 years. I have never walked out. When I heard this server from the kitchen "mf" ing our table... and calling us names that are not appropriate for this forum... and not getting a bite of my food. We walked. This was the worst service I've ever gotten. I'll be calling corporate. ...

I was not pleased with waitresses customer service. Unfortunately I didn’t catch the lady’s name, but she was nice when she approached me & family to seat us. We were very polite & thanked her for everything she was doing. Out of nowhere she suddenly switched & became really nasty & snarky. I ordered the blueberry vanilla crepes. When my food was brought out, I had received strawberry vanilla crepes which were COLD, soggy & drowned in strawberry syrup for starters! She did NOT inform me that they were out of blueberries to begin with or ask if I wanted to order something else. I told her I hadn’t received what I ordered, to which she replied “well, we don’t have any blueberries”, in a very sarcastic tone. She proceeded to stare at me & walked away. For all she knows, I could be allergic to strawberries. She did not check on us to make sure we were ok or if we needed anything, however she made several trips to ask the other guests if they were doing well & there were only 3 families (including us) occupying the space. Also, I want to note that the silverware was cloudy & did not appear to have been cleaned well. After all of that, we were still nice enough to clean up the table & tip her. I will not be returning, because I was not pleased with my food, how she went about addressing the situation & the way we were...
