I have eaten at Hot Box Pizza many times over the years as they are really the only reason to go to Zocalo! But I was happy to see them at the Franksville beer garden tonight for their annual food truck night! Although I'm sure many of trucks have great food, it seems they are all carbon copies of one another and carry all the same items. What I love about Hot Box is their artisan pizzas and unique toppings! This time around I went with their G.O.A.T pizza which had goat cheese, salami, apples, arugula, and a balsamic drizzle. IT WAS AMAZING!! But that didn't surprise me. What really blew me away were their wings! It was my 1st time trying them, and HOLY ST were they out of this world! They were crispy, slightly sweet, and finished in a garlic butter! Hands down the best wings in the Mil! Milwaukee has a lot of "good" places for wings, but there are levels to this st, and these were on another level! I saw a review that said they weren't "jumbo"...they were huge!(I also love that they keep that little piece on the flats that gets super crispy) There aren't many places that do great pizza and there aren't many places that do great wings, Hot Box does both great!! I highly recommend them for anything and everything they do! I can't wait for their brick and mortar to open later this year off Oklahoma! I will be one of the...
Read moreIn life you truly never know when you are going to be treated to a culinary experience. Stopped bye to grab a pepperoni pizza for the family and asked TJ for another pizza of something unique to them. Being from Chicago I have a need for pizza nearly daily so I can't tolerate trash and my dude flipped out some straight fire. Pepperoni pizza needs proper pepperoni to cheese surface ratio or its to little or too much and this pizza was perfect. They even use smaller diameter pepperoni to accommodate their smaller pizza size. Next up I got a pizza of a type I'd never thought I'd eat but I assured it was a banger. The G.O.A.T pizza combines so much of what you want but never thought of doing. Goat cheese, with all the toppings was trip out this world. Top tier crispy thin pizza from that wood fire oven. Worth a trip to...
Read moreI have gone here about a half dozen times since October and if i was reviewing this in October time i would be giving it a solid 5 stars. But lately the quality of ingredients have been going down or maybe they are just changing the ingredients. The Mac and cheese used to be so incredible but now just average. The pizza is still good but a couple months ago it was one of the best i ever had in the city. Also they don’t give out garlic knots anymore and changed to garlic bread, which is not even close to as good. All this with the prices going up. I don’t mind the slight price increase because i understand business but i can’t come there if it’s more expensive and not nearly as good as it used to be. I’ll go back here one day hoping that it goes back to how it used to be...
