I had such high hopes for this place. I really wanted to like it because the customer service was phenomenal, but no amount of customer service can make up for a lack of consistency! The wait was long, about 30 minutes after ordering, which was unusual because it wasn’t even packed. For myself, I ordered the Chicken Catcher, everything on it, medium spice and added bacon. For my husband I ordered the Powerlifter without peppers and onions, mild spice. I also got the rice pudding with added honey and nuts. The rice pudding was amazing! Best I’ve had in a long time! It was so rich, smooth and creamy with a lightly loose gelatinous consistency, kinda like a cross between panna cotta and custard if you were to pulse it through the food processor. Not too sweet, even with the drizzle of honey. UNFORTUNATELY, my sandwich didn’t match the rave reviews I share with the dessert. It was like a famine it. Stingy with everything! I got a 16 inch and was initially pleasantly surprised by the size of it, until I unwrapped it to discover that it was serious bread padding! I had more bread than anything, and the bread itself was like a dry desert in my mouth. I asked for medium spice and it was bland! I wanted everything on it that was supposed to come with it and they left out everything but the chicken bacon. There were maybe a couple skimpy pickles and very, very little garlic sauce under what little chicken I did get in proportion to the size of the sandwich and all that bread. That sandwich was STARVED!!! I was amazed at the amount of beef bacon I got but it was atrocious! I asked for crispy and it was more rubbery and tough than old worn soles from well worn sneakers! The pic I provided tells it all, only prior to taking it I had to scrap all the bacon off because the sandwich was even less enjoyable and somewhat inedible. Fed that to my dog who thoroughly enjoyed it. The flavor of the meat was good but mostly lost in my famine sandwich. And what’s worse is that I only eat one meal a day, on account of my intermittent fasting. Blew my one meal and had to eat half the rice pudding to feel somewhat satisfied. I’m a one and done gal! One shot and if you miss I walk! Not worth the $30, and my fault for not checking my order before walking out. My mother said hers was good but the burgers my brother and his gf got were dry and everyone’s orders was messed up except for my little sister’s and my husband’s. I don’t want a fix, don’t want anything free, and it’s not worth the distance to get my money back. I washed my hands of this place and won’t be back! Just hope your consistency gets better because with a name like the ultimate sandwich, and Mega this sandwich is highly misleading and there’s nothing ultimate about it! I feel so cheated because of all the good reviews! Seriously wondering if there wasn’t a lot of review padding going on! I should’ve stuck with my original plan and went to the seafood shack or could’ve gone to Charley’s or Jersey Mike’s for a satisfying meal that doesn’t disappoint! I hope you get it together because the potential is there but not for my buck!

Megawich, located in Brady Street, Milwaukee, is an absolute gem for those who appreciate big, creative, and delicious beef protein sandwiches. This restaurant truly lives up to its name, delivering memorable dining experiences with its exceptional offerings. One standout sandwich on their menu is the "Quarterback Burger." This culinary masterpiece features an 802 Angus beef burger patty cooked to perfection. Topped with their signature dressing, fresh tomatoes, pickles, onions, lettuce, and a generous layer of cheese, this sandwich is a true delight for burger enthusiasts. The combination of high-quality ingredients creates a symphony of flavors that will leave you craving for more. The Quarterback Burger is undoubtedly a must-try item at Megawich. Another tantalizing option is "The Beef Long Snapper." This sandwich showcases marinated ground beef infused with oriental spices, expertly grilled on skewers. The succulent beef is paired with a delightful tahini dressing that adds a creamy and nutty element to the dish. Topped with fresh tomatoes and garnished with parsley, this sandwich offers a unique fusion of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. What sets Megawich apart from other restaurants is not just their incredible sandwiches, but also the professionalism and friendliness of their staff. The service provided by their team is exceptional, making your dining experience a pleasant one. Their attentive and knowledgeable staff members are always ready to assist you in choosing the perfect sandwich or cater to any specific dietary requirements you may have. The ambiance of Megawich is inviting and comfortable, making it an ideal place to enjoy a delicious meal. The cuisine is crafted with precision and care, ensuring that each sandwich is a work of art. Whether you visit for lunch or dinner, you can expect a consistently high standard of food and service. Overall, Megawich is a hidden gem in the heart of Brady Street, Milwaukee. With their big and creative beef protein sandwiches, such as the Quarterback Burger and The Beef Long Snapper, they offer an exceptional dining experience. The combination of high-quality ingredients, innovative flavors, and friendly service makes Megawich a must-visit restaurant for sandwich lovers and food enthusiasts alike.

UPDATE: After giving this place another shot, I have to lower my rating. During my first visit I waited about 15 minutes and I was the only person in the restaurant. It was late at night so I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was a new business still working out some kinks. It has been a few months now and the service is still painfully slow. Each time I’ve gone they specifically ask you to leave a 5 star review. I get reviews are important for a new business, but if it’s good it should speak for itself. My party ordered 3 large sandwiches (24” each) for a total of $94. The only thing “Mega” about Megawich is the wait time. We waited 30 minutes for our sandwiches. 2 people ordered after us and they got their food before we did. There is absolutely no reason that a sandwich should take that long to prepare considering that there is nothing special about the sandwiches they offer. Second, the amount you pay for these sandwiches is not worth it. In my original review I mentioned how the portions are lackluster, and for a place that promises mega portions on their website they fall several feet short of the mark. Read the excerpt from their website below: “The idea was to fill the niche of the underserved community in the Milwaukee east side that are looking for healthy food, big on protein with satisfying portions during late night hours.” If you are promising sandwiches big on protein then there should be more than a few slices of protein on your sandwiches. It should not take 1 large 24” sandwich for me to get full, when sandwiches from other chains can do the same with half the amount. Having given this place another chance I cannot recommend it. There is clearly a mismanagement of time. Initially I thought the price was worth what you get, but after giving Megawich another opportunity I will not be returning. It’s not worth the hassle or the price. They over promise and under deliver. I would expect more from a place called Megawich, but instead you’re met with a mediocre sandwich.

In all of my visits to Megawhich which have been SUPER positive this one was a stinker. The online ordering was down so naturally I called to order our dinner. Well that didn't go as I had hoped. The woman wouldn't take an order, told me to go through Uber or Doordash which wasn't going to work since I wanted to pick it up and not be charged for those platforms. I asked to speak to the manager, she said I could.... then hung up on me. I called back and asked again to speak to the manager, she said I told you that there wasn't a manager here. Then she continued to talk over me, did not let me finish what I was trying explain how this was only reflecting poorly on the business. Because I can choose to spend my time and money anywhere.

I can't order online, you won't take my order, foe which I would have happily paid for over the phone and literally gave me no alternative option. She didn't even mention that she could take my order at the store. The crazy part to me is this is a beautiful halal business try hard to get off the ground. The food is exceptional ! The service this time was less than poor.

I hope this is seen as an important reminder and a training opportunity. Whomever you have that is customer facing needs to understand they are a representative of your business. If you have someone who doesn't care about the experience then you aren't going to get repeat business; because no one wants to pay for a rotten experience......it's that simple.....

There is a difference between following policy and being kinda rude. The fact she couldn't be bothered to let me finish what I was saying before talking over me and hanging up when she I could speak to a manager ... and not that I would need to call back at a particular time. Just hung up. Those are basics in customer service and common courtesy. I do understand. Everyone has a bad day. This is a good opportunity to make this a great experience for everyone everytime they came.through the door. And while the "management" said the website wasn't down, I sure wasn't able to order like I always have

This by no means should deter anyone from getting one of their delicious sandwiches or wonderfully seasoned flex fries, this is for the ones working there not being kind and not making it an enjoyable experience for people who want to support Halal businesses so to be fair I updated from 1 star to 3. Defending bad customer service is deplorable since how a business stays in business is through its clientele, especially...
