I had such high hopes for this place. I really wanted to like it because the customer service was phenomenal, but no amount of customer service can make up for a lack of consistency!
The wait was long, about 30 minutes after ordering, which was unusual because it wasn’t even packed. For myself, I ordered the Chicken Catcher, everything on it, medium spice and added bacon. For my husband I ordered the Powerlifter without peppers and onions, mild spice. I also got the rice pudding with added honey and nuts.
The rice pudding was amazing! Best I’ve had in a long time! It was so rich, smooth and creamy with a lightly loose gelatinous consistency, kinda like a cross between panna cotta and custard if you were to pulse it through the food processor. Not too sweet, even with the drizzle of honey.
UNFORTUNATELY, my sandwich didn’t match the rave reviews I share with the dessert. It was like a famine it. Stingy with everything! I got a 16 inch and was initially pleasantly surprised by the size of it, until I unwrapped it to discover that it was serious bread padding! I had more bread than anything, and the bread itself was like a dry desert in my mouth.
I asked for medium spice and it was bland! I wanted everything on it that was supposed to come with it and they left out everything but the chicken bacon. There were maybe a couple skimpy pickles and very, very little garlic sauce under what little chicken I did get in proportion to the size of the sandwich and all that bread. That sandwich was STARVED!!! I was amazed at the amount of beef bacon I got but it was atrocious! I asked for crispy and it was more rubbery and tough than old worn soles from well worn sneakers!
The pic I provided tells it all, only prior to taking it I had to scrap all the bacon off because the sandwich was even less enjoyable and somewhat inedible. Fed that to my dog who thoroughly enjoyed it.
The flavor of the meat was good but mostly lost in my famine sandwich. And what’s worse is that I only eat one meal a day, on account of my intermittent fasting. Blew my one meal and had to eat half the rice pudding to feel somewhat satisfied. I’m a one and done gal! One shot and if you miss I walk! Not worth the $30, and my fault for not checking my order before walking out. My mother said hers was good but the burgers my brother and his gf got were dry and everyone’s orders was messed up except for my little sister’s and my husband’s. I don’t want a fix, don’t want anything free, and it’s not worth the distance to get my money back. I washed my hands of this place and won’t be back! Just hope your consistency gets better because with a name like the ultimate sandwich, and Mega this sandwich is highly misleading and there’s nothing ultimate about it! I feel so cheated because of all the good reviews! Seriously wondering if there wasn’t a lot of review padding going on! I should’ve stuck with my original plan and went to the seafood shack or could’ve gone to Charley’s or Jersey Mike’s for a satisfying meal that doesn’t disappoint! I hope you get it together because the potential is there but not...
Read moreIn all of my visits to Megawhich which have been SUPER positive this one was a stinker. The online ordering was down so naturally I called to order our dinner. Well that didn't go as I had hoped. The woman wouldn't take an order, told me to go through Uber or Doordash which wasn't going to work since I wanted to pick it up and not be charged for those platforms. I asked to speak to the manager, she said I could.... then hung up on me. I called back and asked again to speak to the manager, she said I told you that there wasn't a manager here. Then she continued to talk over me, did not let me finish what I was trying explain how this was only reflecting poorly on the business. Because I can choose to spend my time and money anywhere.
I can't order online, you won't take my order, foe which I would have happily paid for over the phone and literally gave me no alternative option. She didn't even mention that she could take my order at the store. The crazy part to me is this is a beautiful halal business try hard to get off the ground. The food is exceptional ! The service this time was less than poor.
I hope this is seen as an important reminder and a training opportunity. Whomever you have that is customer facing needs to understand they are a representative of your business. If you have someone who doesn't care about the experience then you aren't going to get repeat business; because no one wants to pay for a rotten experience......it's that simple.....
There is a difference between following policy and being kinda rude. The fact she couldn't be bothered to let me finish what I was saying before talking over me and hanging up when she I could speak to a manager ... and not that I would need to call back at a particular time. Just hung up. Those are basics in customer service and common courtesy. I do understand. Everyone has a bad day. This is a good opportunity to make this a great experience for everyone everytime they came.through the door. And while the "management" said the website wasn't down, I sure wasn't able to order like I always have
This by no means should deter anyone from getting one of their delicious sandwiches or wonderfully seasoned flex fries, this is for the ones working there not being kind and not making it an enjoyable experience for people who want to support Halal businesses so to be fair I updated from 1 star to 3. Defending bad customer service is deplorable since how a business stays in business is through its clientele, especially...
