Fudgy Brownie CinnaTop: Panera recently introduced a slew of new items including three varieties of what they have dubbed "CinnaTops". The Cinnatop flavors include Candy Cookie, Choco Chipper Cookie, and Fudgy Brownie. It was easy narrowing down which I would try as I'm a fudgy (not cakey) brownie fan. The official description is "A deliciously crafted cinnamon roll made with our sweet dough, stuffed with cinnamon-sugar filling and topped with decadent icing, brownie chunks and finished with an icing drizzle". It comes in a cute little windowed box and was relatively hefty. Also of note, it is served as a room temperature dessert. I have not had the most recent iteration of Panera's cinnamon roll, but I would imagine it's similar if not exactly the same as this (just minus the brownie pieces). There is a copious amount of icing both on top of the roll and even inside (see cross-section picture). As good as that sounds, that brings me to my biggest complaint and that is the flavor. The icing is extremely tangy, to the point that I want to describe it as having a lemony flavor (not a plus in my book). Thankfully the chocolate flavor of the brownies helps to distract from this. Mine came topped with eight brownie pieces that were approximately the same size, but that might vary with your experience. Although not as fudgy or tasty as my homemade brownies, they were satisfying enough. There is also a nice amount of cinnamon flavor from the cinnamon-sugar filling (again see cross-section picture) to help diminish that awful lemony icing. If you plan on trying the new CinnaTops, my final word of advice is to warm them up in the microwave as it made enough of a difference in taking this from an avoid, to just okay dessert. I still probably wouldn't eat one again (and it was free with a Panera Rewards coupon) as there's just so many better dessert options...
Read moreCame in & bill came to about $30. Used my card & was told it didn’t go thru so I pay cash. The manager and cashier were more than friendly. Few days later I notice the payment went thru so I call to speak with a manager & I’m told he’s in a meeting & he would give a call back after lunch time. He never calls. I try the next morning & manager was also friendly (not the same one I dealt with before) he took my name down & said they could look up transaction by card & I could get refund whenever. I come the next day, ask for a manager, & after waiting about 10 minutes I see a person come from the back who never once looks up to make eye contact with me although I’m the only customer in front of the counter. He starts doing something with the bread & the cashier ask if I had been helped & I told her I was waiting for a manager. We go to the side & I explain to him what happened & he ask if I have my receipt. I say “no but they told me they could look it up by card” & he gives me a dumb sarcastic eye roll &says “um no”. So I ask if there’s another manager here referring to the one I spoke with or the one who did the transaction & he says a flat no. So now I’m like “well would you like to see the bank statement from my phone” offering suggestions that he should be saying. He takes a look, gives me money back, Hands me a receipt without saying a word. Off of impulse I respond thank you & still nothing. MATTHEW was beyond rude, was NOT APOLOGETIC about any inconvenience towards me & what happened. As if I hadn’t paid MY money & wasted MY time coming back there. Made me never want to spend...
Read moreI used to like Panera Bread and thought this location was okay and convenient. However, my experience today was horrible. I spent $27.52 of my hard earned money for this location not to have a cashier at the front and I had to wait a few minutes for someone to come and take my order. Secondly, the person who took my order "Pam" was very monontone and acted as if taking my order was such an inconvenience. I was bringing in bagels for coworkers. There were no boxes to put the bagels in and "Pam" proceeded to put them in a shopping bag. I took an issue with that because I thought they would come in a box. Today was a special event in my office and I had volunteered to bring in bagels. So here I am with a shopping bag of bagels, no box, and not only did "Pam" act as if I was bothering her when I placed my order, "Pam" also cannot count. Instead of giving me 18 bagels, she only gave me 15, so I was shorted 3 bagels. I did not discover this until after I had arrived at work, and had placed the bagels on some plates in our office as opposed to leaving them in this big awkward shopping bag because there were no boxes for bagels at this location. So thanks for the great customer service. It's sad when me as a customer does not want $30 rewards for future use and would instead like a refund because the customer service is horrible, and I don't plan on going to any Panera location ever. This location needs a complete overhaul. Thanks...
