Have you ever spent a night at an Art Gallery? Well, after staying at Saint Kate, I must say that I have. I came here for the night since I was running a 5K on Saturday morning. I have been running races in Wisconsin since 2014 and always loved staying at different hotels. I decided to try Saint Kate out and wow it didn't disappoint.
If you have been to Milwaukee downtown hotels, you probably experienced some difficulty in finding parking especially on Friday or Saturday nights. Well, knowing this I called Saint Kate as I was about 20 minutes away from the hotel. The front desk, gentleman, Anthony, answered the phone and reassured me that there is parking at the hotel on both sides of it. 20 minutes later I was happily parked in the garage. As I took the elevator up to the hotel, I was impressed with the cleanliness of everything, and once I walked in to Saint Kate I felt like I was at the Art Gallery. They literary have an art gallery there and so many unique and interesting masterpieces of various artists. Anthony greeted me at the front desk. the check in time was less than 5 minutes, which was impressive since the lobby and bar area was packed. I went upstairs to the 3rd floor in beautiful elevators with 3D artwork and was blown away by my room. It's literary an art gem. The pictures attached don't do it justice and if you are ever in Milwaukee, I would highly recommend for you to check it out yourself. Probably the most unique place I have ever stayed in, and I stay in hotels every other weekend during winter/spring.
I was so impressed that I told my gymnastics team about this gem and some of them will most likely be staying here in February along with already three reserved rooms for my friends and coaches, including myself of course.
Thank you to the following people.
Anthony - assisting in parking, checking me in and sending up maintenance to fix my TV. Lamont - maintenance magician. When I stayed at Saint Kate the TV wasn't working, Lamont arrived to my room in less than 10 minutes, reset the TV. stepped out and came back in exactly 10 minutes, as promised, to make sure everything was working fine. We had a lovely conversation with him and he told me that maintenance is more than fixing things it's also about making the best stay for the guests. Well, Lamont thanks to you my stay was impeccable. Marty and Gayle from Proof Pizza - for their fast and friendly service. It was toward the end of their shift and the pizza place inside the restaurant was closing soon. Marty and Gayle were amazing and had the energy as if they just started working even though they've been at work all day. Thank you! Haley - front desk receptionist who checked me out of my room and assisted me in modifying and adding a reservations in a few weeks. Elizabeth - front desk. After I ran my 5K this morning and won both raffle and my division I decided to sign up with them again for their race in March. Well, the location was about 20 minutes away from Milwaukee and I called Elizabeth right away to book my stay. She was incredible.
Thank you everyone for such a wonderful experience. I am so excited for my friend/students/family to check out this place and I definitely can't wait to stay here...
Read moreI posted my review from our wedding over a year ago and it's no longer showing so I am reposting!
We had our wedding ceremony and reception in the Simone Ballroom of Saint Kate on 1/31/2022. We were initially looking at 2023 dates, but there was an opening and we decided to go for it! We planned our wedding in 2.5 months and it could not have been done without the support of Saint Kate.
We started the process with Melanie and she was very communicative, kind, and helpful. She reassured us that the team could definitely pull off a wedding on short notice. Being a NYE wedding and a short turnaround, we knew that a hotel that included catering was ideal because it checked a lot of boxes: food, bev, hotel rooms, parking, etc... And the beauty of Saint Kate speaks for itself with its art exhibitions, decor pieces, etc., it was a no brainer! We were happy to sign the contract. We then worked with Emma, the event coordinator, and figured out the logistics: layout, food/bar items, and all the details for the day. Emma was my go-to person throughout the entire process. She is a smart, no nonsense event coordinator and I really valued her opinions when planning my event. In the short amount of time we worked together, it felt like she really knew me. She would address concerns that I had but never voiced and that speaks a lot to her experience and attentiveness. For the actual day-of, we worked with Joey and his banquet team. Joey is kind, calm, and extremely accommodating. You definitely want someone like that for the day-of madness! After our first interaction, we knew we were in good hands. I can’t say enough good things about the staff at Saint Kate–and this extends to the valets, staff at The Bar, housekeeping, etc. Everyone is so professional, friendly, and seems genuinely happy to be there. We knew our guests would receive top-knotch customer service.
Being a wedding, we were not without our hiccups. Ours was with our menu. We had a budget we were trying to stick to but also understood that NYE means the booze is flowing and guests need to eat. It caused a LOT of anxiety for my fiance & I, however, immediately after I voiced my concerns, the team stepped in and got creative. We worked with Matt to finalize our menu and made sure it was hearty but within budget. That really saved our wedding and we are extremely grateful.
We adore Saint Kate and are so happy that we got to host our wedding there. We recommend to all to visit The Bar and check out their art and live music (it’s free!). If you are planning to host an event, we recommend you really consider the type of event you are throwing and your budget. Don’t let a tighter budget hold you back from hosting a great event–and that’s true for any event! Saint Kate is a 4-star hotel in downtown Milwaukee, rightfully so. It is NICE. Our event was black-tie optional and I really couldn’t see it being anything less than. The staff makes you feel like you are royalty from the second you pull up to the second you leave. So, the money is definitely worth it. All that being said, we absolutely made the right choice and would do it...
Read moreI wanted to stay at and enjoy this hotel, but have yet to have the opportunity to do so. I arrived in the late evening to a boisterous lobby party (presumably holiday party guests) on December 14, 2024. When I gave my name to check in I was told that the hotel was oversold and that I was going to be "walked over" to the Hilton Milwaukee City Center which convenintely for the hotel is another property owned by the Marcus group. When I expressed my frustration with the situation I was told they might be able to walk me over the Pfister, but there was a strong possiblity they were also oversold for the night. It would seem that this is a normal occurence for them and I suspect a way to fill unsold rooms at their lesser hotels. They know how many hotel rooms they have and should sell no more than that number! I suspect the drunken party goers in the lobby decided they wanted a room and Saint Kate gave them my room hoping I wouldn't show up. When going over the walk over they presented me a piece of paper that stated that they would provide me at no cost transporation to and from the hotel they were meant to walk me over too. I had already parked my car in the hotel parking lot and did not want to lug all of my luggage back down to the car and drive myself over as I was also meant to have breakfast near St. Kate in the morning anyhow. The young genteman at the desk seemed dumbfounded when I pointed out to him that the paper explained they were to provide this to me. He and the other coworker at the desk were wholy unfamilar with the process of the walkover, unsympathetic, apathetic, and only added to my frustration. The manager -who I never was able to meet with that evening allegedly due to there being an incident that they needed to speak to the police for - booked me an Uber and I went to the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. This hotel is no were near in the class of Saint Kate despite them both being labeled 4 star hotels. Not to metnion the going rate for this hotel is an average of $40-$70 less per night than Saint Kate. The elevator, hallways and lobby were all musty with the smell of 15-20 years of cigarette smoke, there was trash in the hallway, the room I was assigned was outdated and uninspired with the flattest pillows I have ever had at a hotel. The light near my bed didn't work. The toilet had yellow stains in it from the previous guest I can assume, or poor housekeeping. In the morning I elected to book my own Uber back as I had no desire to wait for Saint Kate to be of service. When I left Saturday evening I was told to call and ask for the manager to chat about the issue and they would provide me with an evening at the Saint Kate for my next visit to Milwuakee. I called and left my information me and it has been plenty of time now for them to return my call and they have yet to do so as of writing this. This experience ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing evening in Milwauke...If you'd like to make it right and adress my concerns you have my information Ken (AD of Rooms) and Danielle (Front Office Manager), but this is my honest review...
