Atmosphere: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (4/5 Stars) Indoors or Outdoors it was super clean and modern. Lit candles at every table and great decor.
Service: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (3/5 Stars) I would say the service was great but everything is done on your phone so there’s little “service”; however, it was extremely convenient to check out since the check is already on your phone and you pay by mobile.
Drinks: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (3/5 Stars) I would say this is average. They had a good Old Fashion cocktail but the cocktails on the menu weren’t unique. Definitely recipes you could make at home. They had a good list of wine and could pay per bottle but for $11 a glass, I wasn’t sure how good the wine was going to be to spend the money.
Food: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (5/5 Stars) Baba Ganoush was our appetizer that came with a pane carasau (like naan bread) which was really yummy. Perfect for 2 people. Funghi Pizza was so good. Had porcini crema topped with gruyere, mushrooms, scallions, and chili flakes. It was like a fancy white pie pizza. Cavolo Nero Pizza was incredible. This was my favorite. It had kale, smoked mozzarella, fresno, caramelized bacon chunks, and hot (spicy) honey. I could have had the entire pie to myself.
Overall Recommendation: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (4/5 Stars) Pricewise, it wasn’t extremely overpriced. The apps were around $10 and the specialty pizzas were around $18. It does get crowded and we overheard that reservations set after 7:00pm are usually late/delayed so if you want to go, try for a reservation at 6:00pm. If I had to pick between Rosalia or Martina (restaurant next door) I would pick Martina over Rosalia only because of the service and selection of craft cocktails; however, if you're in the mood for specialty pizza Rosalia is the...
Read moreFull Disclosure: I am all about pizza. I have had great pizza all over North America and consider myself a “pizza snob”, both thin and deep dish. I could care less about the “atmosphere”. I am a food guy who is also NOT into the dating scene. I am married and over 60. I also consider Punch Pizza of the highest quality so I freely admit that I may be comparing Rosalia to Punch, one of my “Top Picks” for pizza in all the pizza places I have dined (including Chicago, New York, Toronto, San Francisco among many others).
Review: In my first visit, I ordered the Salsiccia pizza and 2 Chopped salads. This was for take out. First the good news. The pizza was decent, but at $18.00 compares to $12.00 “comparable” at Punch. I was a little surprised to see small juanapeno peppers on the pie, but maybe that is just me (this is Italian, right?). Overall, I would say the pizza was “good” compared to the “excellent” at Punch. The bad news was that the Chopped Salads were a major disappointment. Small portions and nowhere close to the ingredients in the Punch Chopped. I get focaccia bread WITH the Chopped Salad at Punch, not so at Rosalia. Salad dressing at Punch is far superior to Rosalia IMO.
Conclusion: I paid about $50 for my order which compares to about $35 at Punch. 43% higher prices at Rosalia but no focaccia at Rosalia. IMO, you are paying for the “atmosphere” at Rosalia so if you are into that...
Read moreA wonderful place for a pizza on the patio, or inside on a freezing Minnesota winter maybe a pasta would warm the belly better.
I haven't had everything on the menu but I have been there six times this year. So far it's my favorite pizza place in Minneapolis for 2023.
The drinks are fairly typical, I am rather picky about a craft I am famous for, having bern a bartender for 30 years. More on that below if interested.
The review is over and just feeling extra chatty I guess.
I was a top bartender in Minneapolis, working at Mississippi Live, Jukebox Saturday Night, Norma Jeans, Grandma's in Bloomington. However my career kicked off when I moved to Las Vegas in the early 1990s. I worked at Caesar's Palace for nearly 20 years, serving two presidents, Royalty, hundreds of celebrities. I privately served at Celine Dion's wedding, Pamela Anderson's house warming, and many more.
