Delicious pizza, cooked in a beautiful wood burning oven, right in the heart of Linden Hills. We’ve been to Rosalia many times over the last few years and I don’t think we’ve ever had a dish we didn’t love. In terms of starters and sides, we’ve tried the caesar salad, carrot tahina, hummus, roasted beets and charred cauliflower. I’d recommenced the carrots and the beets in particular, but all of the appetizers are excellent. As for the pizza, we love a good margherita and Rosalia delivers. The crust is nicely charred and the toppings are light, fresh and flavorful. The ambiance is very bright (there are large, floor-to-ceiling windows along one entire side of the restaurant) and welcoming, and the service attentive. Street parking can be a little sparse, so allow a few minutes extra to find a spot. If you like a “chef’s counter” sort of experience, I would recommend trying the pizza bar. It faces the wood burning oven and you get to watch all the magic happen on the line. Otherwise, if you want a table inside or outside on the gorgeous patio, making a reservation is probably the way to go. Enjoy!

I was really excited about dinner reservations at Rosalia with my friends (I have been there twice) In my first visit, We found a piece of glass in our salad. It was a big piece on top. We thought that it was some kind of fancy decor that couldn't be glass, but nope that was it! We waited for our waiter to walk by and we could show him. But they never came, so I took the salad to the kitchen to show them. A horrible experience! I decided to give them another chance. The second time, we wait 50 mins for a pizza. No waiters came by to check on us all the time. When we try to kindly ask for our order when waiters walk by, they literally run away from you! I had to go to cashier to find out about our orders. Bad service! Unsafe food! Their pizza was delicious though! If you like to risk your life and wait an hour to eat a good pizza, here you go! Rosalia is a great place for you!

Great food, bad service. Every server seemed annoyed. We were sat upstairs with my reservation I made and soon were forgotten. We needed water and no one came up to check if we were okay. So I traveled downstairs to let them know, We needed that and also our last item we ordered was forgotten. Server rolled their eyes. When they brought the last item we ordered, it was placed on the table with force. The dish was basically just plopped on the table like it was a bread roll. I expected better service from such a posh looking establishment. Also if you are serving shared dishes please include a serving fork or spoon. Gluten free crust can use some work it wasn’t easy to bite through, had no flavor and it was really charred. Tuna was amazing!! Great flavor on the cucumber salad too. Some good things during our visit, some bad. Better luck next time..

Atmosphere: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (4/5 Stars) Indoors or Outdoors it was super clean and modern. Lit candles at every table and great decor.

Service: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (3/5 Stars) I would say the service was great but everything is done on your phone so there’s little “service”; however, it was extremely convenient to check out since the check is already on your phone and you pay by mobile.

Drinks: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (3/5 Stars) I would say this is average. They had a good Old Fashion cocktail but the cocktails on the menu weren’t unique. Definitely recipes you could make at home. They had a good list of wine and could pay per bottle but for $11 a glass, I wasn’t sure how good the wine was going to be to spend the money.

Food: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (5/5 Stars) Baba Ganoush was our appetizer that came with a pane carasau (like naan bread) which was really yummy. Perfect for 2 people. Funghi Pizza was so good. Had porcini crema topped with gruyere, mushrooms, scallions, and chili flakes. It was like a fancy white pie pizza. Cavolo Nero Pizza was incredible. This was my favorite. It had kale, smoked mozzarella, fresno, caramelized bacon chunks, and hot (spicy) honey. I could have had the entire pie to myself.

Overall Recommendation: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (4/5 Stars) Pricewise, it wasn’t extremely overpriced. The apps were around $10 and the specialty pizzas were around $18. It does get crowded and we overheard that reservations set after 7:00pm are usually late/delayed so if you want to go, try for a reservation at 6:00pm. If I had to pick between Rosalia or Martina (restaurant next door) I would pick Martina over Rosalia only because of the service and selection of craft cocktails; however, if you're in the mood for specialty pizza Rosalia is the...

Full Disclosure: I am all about pizza. I have had great pizza all over North America and consider myself a “pizza snob”, both thin and deep dish. I could care less about the “atmosphere”. I am a food guy who is also NOT into the dating scene. I am married and over 60. I also consider Punch Pizza of the highest quality so I freely admit that I may be comparing Rosalia to Punch, one of my “Top Picks” for pizza in all the pizza places I have dined (including Chicago, New York, Toronto, San Francisco among many others).

Review: In my first visit, I ordered the Salsiccia pizza and 2 Chopped salads. This was for take out. First the good news. The pizza was decent, but at $18.00 compares to $12.00 “comparable” at Punch. I was a little surprised to see small juanapeno peppers on the pie, but maybe that is just me (this is Italian, right?). Overall, I would say the pizza was “good” compared to the “excellent” at Punch. The bad news was that the Chopped Salads were a major disappointment. Small portions and nowhere close to the ingredients in the Punch Chopped. I get focaccia bread WITH the Chopped Salad at Punch, not so at Rosalia. Salad dressing at Punch is far superior to Rosalia IMO.

Conclusion: I paid about $50 for my order which compares to about $35 at Punch. 43% higher prices at Rosalia but no focaccia at Rosalia. IMO, you are paying for the “atmosphere” at Rosalia so if you are into that...

A wonderful place for a pizza on the patio, or inside on a freezing Minnesota winter maybe a pasta would warm the belly better.

I haven't had everything on the menu but I have been there six times this year. So far it's my favorite pizza place in Minneapolis for 2023.

The drinks are fairly typical, I am rather picky about a craft I am famous for, having bern a bartender for 30 years. More on that below if interested.

The review is over and just feeling extra chatty I guess.

I was a top bartender in Minneapolis, working at Mississippi Live, Jukebox Saturday Night, Norma Jeans, Grandma's in Bloomington. However my career kicked off when I moved to Las Vegas in the early 1990s. I worked at Caesar's Palace for nearly 20 years, serving two presidents, Royalty, hundreds of celebrities. I privately served at Celine Dion's wedding, Pamela Anderson's house warming, and many more.

Need help with a restaurant concept I am one of the best consultants and marketers in the field.

I do photography professionally as well, in fact I have reviews of best places to do outdoor photography.
