I was excited to go here in response to a call to action from a local influencer. She invited local content creators to come together in support of this business and get together to share ideas. I attended to support Wooden Ship and network. I brought some product to give away and was received with great energy and interest. Even gave to the 2 staff working who had good things to say about it. This all seemed to be inline with the business' values of "lifting each other up" and "create community". For some reason that shifted when one staff (Sam?) stated to me "I don't mind you being here. But stop harassing customers. They are just here to drink beer." That's when I stated I was with a group of people who were invited here and I only was talking with them. The staff immediately exited and went outside without listening to my response. It was definitely shocking and odd that he called me out and policed my behavior. Especially since me and my work partner were the only brown people in the entire establishment. Not sure what he meant by "I don't mind you being here" but I think I know... He did not talk to any other patrons who were talking about their businesses and interests. Definitely will not be back or...
Read moreI met some friends here around 6pm and we stayed until closing at 10pm. The space was clean and bright, staff was friendly, and I liked that there were dogs. There was a food truck right on the curb, plus additional ordering options provided on the table. It was a good experience and everyone had fun. I'm withholding one star because there were only two non-alcoholic beers available, a hazy IPA and a golden ale, both from Athletic Brewing and both hoppier than I would have liked. I settled on the golden ale, the mellower of the two. I did appreciate that there were any NA beers at all (plus there was kombucha, which is refreshing on a sunny afternoon, but doesn't quite serve as a late-night beer substitute, for me), but with such an abundance of NA beer options on the market today, I wish the care and attention paid to the regular beer list (which my friends really enjoyed) would have been extended to...
Read moreThere's nothing to complain or pick on about this charming neighborhood brewery. Well, maybe, it's that this secret little gem gets too well known and too many people come and then it might be a little too small. We enjoyed it immensely. The beers are really really good. My husband is a lover of IPAs and if I see "kolsch" I'm in! I tried both kolschs - coffee and fruited. The fruited is quite similar to a bud light lime, but finishes so crisp and clean, it was a great hot day drinker! The coffee one was really coffee forward and I really enjoyed that! People were friendly, seating is nice even when busy, parking not bad on the street. Only thing, people please be aware.. if your dog is acting aggressive to another dog, this isn't the place for them. Barking, growling, snapping is uncomfortable even if it's directed towards another dog...
