If I were to just off the comments made at this restaurant I probably wouldn’t try it, who wants to WAIT on your food to cook? Uh, I do! It baffles me to hear that their only complaints is how long the food took to get to your table. I personally think I want my food cooked to perfection and brought to me by an extremely nice person that has been yelled at all day but can still smile and make my meal even more enjoyable. The server can’t help how long the food takes. The restaurant might not look busy, but they make a lot of to-go’s as well as a sweet lady that delivers it right to your door. One of the few in Groveland that DOES! You would think you would understand that you wait for good things, that is why they are busy! BTW: I am not the Abby that works there. But in my numerous visits to grab a delicious salad, wings or pizza I have met the friendly staff. I know that my “special order” is a pain in the arse. I ordered my wings (last night), and I am “one of those” kinda people. I don’t want soggy wings. I like them a little crispy, but not TOO crispy. The lady who took my obscure order, very patiently, and I could tell she had no idea what I was saying. I asked her if she wanted me to clarify EXACTLY how I wanted my wings and then said it would be an hour to an hour and a half for delivery. I said no problem! The wings didn’t arrive as ordered and the garlic knots were just a little over cooked. One quick call and was able to speak to the Abby that does work there. I snapped a couple of pictures and asked if she minded if I sent it to her on her phone. She asked me how I would prefer they solve the problem. I told her that I ate there a lot and realize that I sounded like a lunatic with how I want my wings to perfection, (it’s also the reason I have it delivered or to-go’ed...). But that’s the server in me. I said just keep it and I will order again soon and I also promised not to write a bad comment. She actually talked to someone else and called me BACK! She apologized again and asked if she could have the manager drive them to me themselves! It was so late and I just said thank you and how much that meant to me. I said not to worry, that I would definitely be back, that I wasn’t upset. It was already past my bedtime lol. With all the rude comments about this place I wanted to say if all you have to do is complain about how long it took, go somewhere else. They don’t need to deal with your bad attitude anyway. Lil Anthonys keep up the constant good food and pleasant experience,...
Read moreThis pizza place was so busy before the virus made it into an empty shell. But I wouldn't go back there again even if it remained the only pizza place around. The restaurant was packed, but we (seating for 2) were seated shortly after we arrived. We waited for a while to order and as we did, we asked the waitress about how long the wait would be since we were on a deadline. When more than 30 minutes PAST the estimated time had passed, we were forced to tell the staff that we were couldn't wait any longer and to cancel the order. Would you believe that she told us that "It's coming out of the oven right now." Making ourselves even later for arriving at our mandatory meeting, we waited an additional 7 minutes while they boxed up the pizza to go. Upon request, they reluctantly even gave us plates so we could eat on the road. It would have been a great experience if they had only been real and not tried to accommodate us when they really physically couldn't do it. I would have rather walked out and gone to another restaurant than have the stress of anticipating delivery to our dining room table and a good shared meal that was impossible and unrealistic on their part. I've heard the expression "Timing is everything" and in this case, it wasn't just actually the timing, but the unrealistic commitment the staff verbalized instead of saying honestly that they couldn't provide what we wanted within the time we had. (Our meeting was at the halfway point by the time we...
Read moreThis place can admittedly turn out some tasty food at times, but one's experiences here can be maddeningly inconsistent.
I actually really enjoy their Joe Baron pizza, a thinner than typical crust pizza. It has always been my preferred pizza at this restaurant.
But the frustration comes in due to very slow service at times even when the place is far from packed.
My wife and I stopped by very recently and ordered a take out pizza. We were told 45 minutes for a simple thin pizza, even though they were far from busy. So unfortunately we canceled the order, as we desired to eat sooner and not close to an hour later for a simple order.
The customer service here is sporadic. I haven't had any egregiously bad servers, but I have often felt nearly invisible while in the restaurant due to being effectively ignored by staff.
To anyone reading this review, if you visit this place please set the bar low before going. It can be great, but it can also be bad. Be prepared for things to be painfully slow if it is just one of those days. If you peruse other reviews you may see multiple reports of the slowness, etc.
I like the Joe Baron pizza, but I question if I will be back, I simply do not enjoy the frustration I have experienced...
