Poor service, horrible food, overpriced, and dirty table. Read the novel ahead for details. We did have high hopes as 10 North Main was recommended as one of the nicest restaurants in Minot. For the record, we do want to give it another try, as any place can have a bad night, though this was pretty bad. My husband and I are new parents, and this was our first date night since baby was born, and my birthday, so it added to our serious disappointment. Although the restaurant was not terribly busy, we did not want to sit in the awkward two person loveseat facing towards everyone's tables, so we were more than happy to wait at the bar with a couple drinks. Bartenders were great. We were seated about 20 minutes later, which would have been no issue, but apparently no one notified a server, and the server in our section assumed we were being served by someone else because we had drinks (he admitted). We are not nagging people and my husband and I have been servers ourselves so we didn't want to assume, and waited until after about fifteen minutes we couldn't get anyone's attention, honestly it was like all servers disappeared from the floor or were on their phones just out of sight, but finally closer to twenty minutes after being sat waved down our server, who was apologetic, but unfortunately, the food itself took forever (over forty minutes), no comps offered, and even more ridiculous is he double charged us for the drinks we bought at the bar (he did correct this when we pointed it out). If the food lived up to the price tag we could've dealt with it. With that said, the hasenpfeffer was DELICIOUS and worth the price tag...but it stopped there. The three sides we got were nothing but salt and butter, all you could taste. The bacon wrapped shrimp were undercooked and rubbery, almost cold and didn't taste right, like a subtle rancid taste. The pasta pesto dish was not a true pesto and so bland, pasta overcooked. Honestly not sure how a dish with those ingredients could be so, so, so bland, but no flavor, literally. Cheesecake was dry. We aren't the kind of people to complain or send food back, plus we had been there for hours at this point and wanted to leave. Not to mention the table cloth was disgusting, wherever it wasn't covered by the glass top, the overhanging cloth, it clearly hadn't been washed in weeks if not months. The biggest issue is that the prices are unreasonably high for such poor quality of service, food, and cleanliness. We still haven't convinced ourselves to go back, but hopefully someone reads this review and considers checking and washing table cloths regularly, adjusting menu prices or overseeing what comes out of the kitchen, and setting up a reliable communication process between the host and servers. It would be lovely for Minot to have the high class restaurant 10 North Main is trying to be. Offering comps can also show patrons you acknowledge what is not considered standard for your establishment to encourage them to come back or refer family/friends...and not feel the need to write a novel long...
Read moreWent for NYE dinner for what we hoped was going to be a great experience as we'd previously had, but were quickly disappointed. Here's a summary of our experience on 31 Dec:
Had reservation for 2 at 8PM and were promptly seated (great as they weren't very busy) Once seated our waitress (older lady with glasses and horse voice. She never did introduce herself...) brought water but I noticed my water glass had lipstick on it (should never happen in this type if establishment). Waitress took drink/appetizer order (beer/wine/pheasant strips/shrimp cocktail) Drinks sat on bar for 15 minutes until the bartender noticed my wife and I looking around for our waitress and asked if we had ordered drinks. We told her they had been sitting on the bar and she apologized and brought the drinks. Waitress eventually showed back up with our pheasant strips (which were overcooked), forgot the shrimp cocktail, took our main course order (never explained any specials). Wife had to ask the waitress for bread as she was passing by. Waitress realized she forgot shrimp cocktail and brought it with our salads (food was great) Main dish came and was great! Crab cakes, and crab cake stuffed shrimp (that I asked to be panko crusted but weren't. most likely put in wrong by the waitress not a mistake on the kitchen) Wife ordered 2nd glass of wine which sat on bar until my wife asked another passing waitress to grab it for her.
Ultimately, the food quality was great but the service was some of the worst ever! This establishment needs an engaged Dining Room Manager to ensure a great dining experience for their guests. This is one of the fanciest/upscale restaurants in Minot and we've had better service consistently at Applebee's/Badlands... My wife and l aren't ones to complaint and make a scene on the spot, but I won't hesitate to leave an honest review.
Venture here at your own risk, there was also another lady who we overheard talking to the staff that her party had "known better than to come here"...

Read moreWe have lived in Minot for over 7 years, 10 North Has been a special place for me and my husband to go for a nice meal, our date. When it closed we were so sad! We were so pleased it opened back up! We have been 4 times since the grand opening. Our first visit was excellent, we had martinis and Tapas upstairs. The gentleman making the martinis knew what he was doing! We have the Pheasant strips and crab cakes, my husband said the crab cakes were the best he's ever had, we were very pleased with that visit. Our next three visits were not so successful. The service has been great every single time, the food however has gone downhill. Not sure what that is about, very strange. When you pay those prices you expect to get what you're paying for, that was not the case. We had crab cakes the second time they were barely cooked, quite soggy. I had the shrimp on our last visit it was almost an edible big beautiful shrimp and they were soggy and cold, should not have happened! We remain hopeful that something will be done to get a handle on the quality of the food. Not sure when we'll go back. That is my honest opinion we love the atmosphere there we hope they get back on track. We are cheering for this restaurant to remain successful it's one of the very few places in Minot we really like to go and just relax and have a good meal. The two stars I gave, are definitely NOT For or the service and the atmosphere. It...
