I purchased my wedding dress at Mary Me. I had to order a size up as the one I tried on off the rack was snug. Both girls working said I could special order the dress as it was not discontinued. I put 1/2 down in cash. They stated the owner would place the order next week when she got back. The next week, I received a phone call from the owner that the dress was actually discontinued 4 months ago. There was the possibility a seamstress could take the dress out. I scheduled an appointment at 4 pm for the following Wednesday to meet a seamstress in store to see if we could make the dress off the rack work. I called that Monday and spoke with the owner to confirm my 4:00 appointment. Fast forward to Wednesday I showed up for my 4 pm appointment. The lady at the counter said we had you down for 12:00, but you can go ahead and put the dress on. I questioned why I would put the dress on when my purpose of the appointment was to meet a seamstress. I asked if the seamstress showed up at 12:00 and she stated no. She called and left a message with the seamstress who showed up minutes later. I did confirm with the seamstress after the fact. Her and I were on the same page-we both had the appointment for 4:00. Luckily, the seamstress could not make this dress work for me. Eventually I got my money back, but not when I walked out of the store. I had to wait to be reimbursed on my card as I paid in cash and they didn’t have that cash on hand. I was very cordial during this entire process as I understand we are human and mistakes are made, but never once did the owner take it into her own hands or follow up with me to ensure things were done correctly after the first mistake. I received ONE phone call from her- the initial call to tell me the dress was indeed discontinued. She never followed up with me to confirm the scheduled appointment with the seamstress, and most importantly never called me to let me know she refunded my card. I had to make those calls. I do not recommend Mary Me for an ultimate bridal...
Read moreI have never gone bridal shopping before. I was looking for a dress for myself and for my 5 year old daughter. I am overweight, usually wearing an 18-22 depending on who makes the clothing. With that being said...
The moment I walked in I felt like I wasn't wanted there. The lady saw us come in and continued pricing whatever she was pricing until I said hello. She greeted us and asked what we were there for, I said I was looking for a dress for myself and a flower girl dress for my daughter. She immediately asked if I was having an in-town wedding. I said, no, we were planning on travelling to Reno and having a chapel wedding, she kind of sneered and said "Oh well the lady is in the back with another customer, why don't you take a look around and see if there's anything you like."
They really do frown upon having out of town weddings here, as a gentlemen walked in wanting measurements taken and the lady asked if it was a in town or out of town he said it was out of town and the lady charged him for the measurements saying that if only it was an in town wedding the measurements would be free of charge. Ridiculous.
Honestly, they don't have a good selection of plus sized dresses. They had three strapless dresses over $1000...um. NO! I am not paying $1000 for a freaking dress. I don't even like strapless. I hate my body the way that it is, you think I want to show off how freaking fat am I in a dress like that? Gross! I mean it's great if you're confident in your body, but I'm not. I've never liked strapless dresses.
They didn't have very much when it came to flower girl dresses either. After about a half an hour looking at dresses and being completely ignored, I left. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I'll gladly travel out of town to...
Read moreI did not think I would find my dress the first time I tried dresses on. I had an idea of what I wanted and did not plan to digress from it. I planned to shop multiple times to find my dress. Eleanor was AMAZING! She put me in 10 or so dresses I thought I would love; I did not like ANY of them. She then, walked the floor and found a dress that was the exact opposite of what I planned on getting. I tried it on and it was the first one, I liked, but was not ready to commit to it. I walked the store with her to see if there was anything else, and tried on another 10 dresses from her suggestions as well as my Mom’s. After putting “the dress” on the fourth time, I realized Eleanor’s first suggestion was the ONE! She was so patient, friendly, kind and fun. I really enjoyed trying dresses on with her.
The rest of the staff was just as amazing, from ordering Tuxes to the last minute details like steaming my dress, they were always 2 steps ahead of my checklist! I felt like my wedding mattered. The staff took the time to get to know me and called me by name while I was in the store without having to introduce myself every time I was there. All of the little details, friendly and kind people made the...
