Lava Island BBQ — Restaurant in Mission Viejo

I really like this place. I have taken friends here and they all like it. The rice bowl or sauce and the meats are really good. The potato macaroni salad and other sides and the sandwhiches. Basically anything on the menu i like. This older asia man i think might be the owner was there more around september or so i havent seen him the past couple times ive been there. He is very friendly and personable. One of the cashiers the past couple times is good but he needs to stop wearing earbuds unless its for a hearing reason. He seems disinterested and always asks to repeat myself. And he is playing video games on his ipad which im not attacking but no one wants to feel like theyre interrupting the workers who are meant to provide service to them and i know this from experience since i have worked in cpunter service before. I walked out after 5 minutes of not being acknowledged. Way to make a great 1st impression guys. I guess you have to be a regular here. A woman walked in after I did which I assume may or may not be with a delivery service. I was really looking forward to a new experience from the usual. I was very impressed. While their menu is not huge, the quality more than makes up for it.

I tried both the pork and chicken egg rolls. They were unique, and amazing. These are not your normal cabbage and carrot filled egg rolls with a bit of meat. No, these are like a Hawaiian version of a Taquito.

They also have BBQ Pork as one of the options for their plates and bowls. It is really good. Tender and tasty.
