BEST QUALITY CHINESE ! My wife and I have been enjoying the best Chinese cuisine at Min's Dumpling in San Clemente where we live. In fact we have been there once a week since the eatery opened in December last year. James the owner is a very switched on guy and invited to try out his newest location right here with the promise of new items on the menu incl one of my favs....Kung Pao Beef. So we hit the road on Thursday and arrived here around 1.30pm. SO ! This is a bigger location than the San Clemente one but still decked out in a vibrant scheme inside. Tommy the manager of the Yorba Linda restaurant greeted us in a hearty manner. We said hi to the rest of the staff. Tommy got things going for us with our lunch order of Kung Pao Beef and Shrimp Chow Mein. I grabbed a Yuzu White Peach Sparkling Water from the chilled cabinet on the counter. AND THEN ! James the owner turned up after running an errand....he was very happy to see us. BELLA ! James and Tommy introduced us to Bella their automated food runner. Our sensational looking meals arrived very quickly thanks to Bella. VERY DELICIOUS ! I haven't had Kung Pao Beef in quite a while..It tasted perfectly cooked but I would have liked it more spicy. WOW ! My wife went nuts eating her Shrimp Chow Mein...I tried some and believe me it couldn't be better. My White Peach sparkling water tasted very refreshing. THERE'S MORE ! We also tried the Broccoli Shrimp which was really great. Tommy was kind enough to box up our leftovers for home. BEAUTIFUL RESTAURANT ! As always James has the most talented staff serving fabulous food in a nice relaxing interior....
Read moreVery pleasantly surprised and absolutely will be back. So far only had dumplings—and received complimentary soup. Looking forward to trying entrées as well. Might become our new takeout spot.
Ordered a lot as we wanted to try a variety of things. Total bill for 2 was $53.61… but would likely be $15+ less had we ordered a more normal amount.
—Pork Soup Dumplings (better than most in the general area), —Shrimp and Pork Shu Mai (delicious), —Wonton with Chili Sauce (best thing we had; was served with a creamy, possibly peanut sauce (?) as well), —Scallion Pancake (crispy and not overly stuffed with scallions as these sometimes can be), —Sesame Ball (crunchy and sweet).
Counter service style place where you get a number to bring to the table—and they have a little robot that brings food to you (the super hot bamboo steamers were carried over by staff). A few takeout orders while we were there too.
Prices are reasonable. It’s 2025… nowhere has the prices many remember from 2019 and earlier. And no, this is not the cheaper prices of those places that load a styrofoam container with a pick 3 combo. For the quality and quantity you get prices are definitely reasonable and worth it.
Did not take any photos of the food… eagerly dug in once it arrived, and only as we were finishing and saying how good it all was did we think oh we forgot to take photos...
Read moreI happened across Min’s Dumpling on a recent Yelp search, so we decided to drive south and visit their newly opened Mission Viejo location for lunch on a Sunday. We arrived shortly after they opened, so we beat the lunch crowd. Our server seated us at a table and she instructed us to order and pay at the corner.
The Min’s Dumpling menu offers a sizable selection of Chinese dishes, but we decided on ordering our perennial favorites like Scallion Pancakes, Classic Pork Soup Dumplings, Pork Wonton with Chili Sauce and Pork Pot Stickers. We were all hungry, so these dishes really hit the spot. My only negative feedback was that the Classic Pork Soup Dumplings were nothing to write home about, so I probably wouldn’t order them again. For dessert, we enjoyed the yellow egg custard filling of their Sweet Piggy Buns…they were not only delicious but made for such a cute photo opp! Min’s also has locations in Yorba Linda and San Clemente, so check out one of their locations the next time you’re craving...
