We went out on Friday night. We live on the south side of Missoula and don't go downtown much, but wanted to go down and get some snacks and drinks cuz the evening was nice. We ordered a Cold Smoke and a new spicy huckleberry margarita. We also ordered the trash can nachos with beef and extra avocado and an order of pretzel poles. Our server was great and the drinks were good. The nachos, however, had almost no beef at all. The avocado, which was $3.00 extra, was in a small condiment container and maybe a few small pieces... definitely not $3.00 worth and it may as well been a vegetarian dish as we had to search for the "beef". I really wanted to love it, but, I left asking "Where's the beef"?
EDIT: August 12 We went back to the Mar Bar (Thomas Meagher Bar) for dinner with my sister and had the trash can nachos with beef and avocado like before, and a buffalo chicken salad. As promised to Lauren, I would amend my earlier review after giving them a chance to redeem themselves. As always, our server, Dee, was great!!! AND we got the same trash can nachos with beef and avocado as before and I must say that we were pleased with the meal. The only reason I didn't give a 5 on food is because my sister's fries were cold (she got chicken tenders and fries)Your team is always on point with service and today proves that some days are just "a tough day" and everyone deserves a second chance. The nachos were as we expected, a trash can full of yummy goodness(with BEEF) If you're out and about go by the Mar Bar and have some nachos and drinks...sit outside and enjoy the views. Thank you, Lauren for reaching out to show you stand by your product.

Read moreTMB is a quality establishment named for the famous Irishman, Montanan and freedom fighter, Thomas Meagher (pronounced "Marr'). In addition to a decent selection of draught beers (including Guinness, of course), TMB has a great menu of meals and appetizers, prepared promptly by the hard-working kitchen staff. The fare features the best Reuben anywhere, bangers & mash, fantastic burgers, saalds and plenty of Irish standards. The mixed drinks are outstanding and there are daily specials. The management and crew are very friendly, and despite the multitude of patrons, make an effort to never forget a patron's first name. I have a disability that results in another great Missoula bar unreasonably refusing to serve me alcoholic beverages. TMB took time to learn about the disorder and takes Title III of the ADA very seriously. Everyone is welcome. There are many big screen TVs, so it gets very crowded on big game days. Among athletics featured is rugby, and there are banners and jerseys of notable rugby teams on display. No live music, but excellent recorded music on the bar's quality sound system. No dance floor. Seating at the bar, at tables, and in booths. There are device USB charging ports at the back booths. St. Patrick's Day at TMB is really fun. Check it out! Tell...
Read moreTraveling through Missoula, my husband Thomas Meagher (yes, same name as the restaurant) and I stopped at the Thomas Meagher Bar. We have known the Mar Bar existed for the past several years. We even contacted the manager back then and received an enthusiastic invitation to come experience the restaurant. It’s only now, years later, and after Tom’s serious health challenges, that we finally have been able to make the trip from Western Washington. We have read two biographies re Thomas Francis Meagher and have seen the statue in Helena. We are not aware of any actual genetic link but have enjoyed the legend and the shared common name, unusual as it is. Tonight we had an amazing experience as customers of the Bar. Taylor, the manager, greeted us warmly and celebrated with us the coincidence of our shared name. We explained our long history of hoping to visit Missoula. Tom bought a Mar Bar hat as a souvenir and Taylor generously gave us both tee shirts. We also enjoyed Phia our excellent server. The food was tasty, the carrot cake awesome, but the service provided by Phia and Taylor made it an experience beyond our expectations. We recommend you enjoy their hospitality as we did. They will make it a...
