My family and I are multi generation Missoulians. The Old Post is staple in the community and my family and I have many wonderful memories made there over great food and drinks. Unfortunately, after our experience last night I hope the owners address their manager Cass Sinclair and make changes. My family had a wonderful lunch Friday December 8 at The Old Post, the lunch staff and food were amazing! So after my fathers Rosary service we decided to go back for a bite to eat. Dressed in our Sundays best we arrived there to the seat yourself sign up and the EXACT two tables that we had sat at earlier in the day empty along with 5 other tables and wide open seating at the bar. We started to put the two tables together as we had earlier in day when this very rude lady (we now know is Cass Sinclair) approached us and in a very deaming snotty voice asked if had a reservation. I replied with a no and your sign says to please seat yourself. She proceed to say some very rude comments and told us to wait at the front. We obliged and went and sat by the front door. I will tell you in my entire life I have never been treated as bad as our next interaction with Cass Sinclair was going to be. 5-10 minutes later she finally came up and told us it would be a 20 minute wait for us to be able to be seated there for our party size of 8-12. I replied with questioning why we could not sit at the two tables available or the 5 others open. And she proceeded to rudely tell us we were not welcome. I invite the owners to review the cameras to verfiy everything and to see the whole incident. A tough evening was turned into an even more awful night for absolutely no reason other then she for some reason did not think we belonged. Disgusting discrimination shame on you Cass Sunclair and shame on The Old Post for allowing such a person to represent...

From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I was in for a delightful experience. Not only did I indulge in an amazing chicken sandwich, but our server, Abby, went above and beyond to ensure our visit was nothing short of exceptional.
What truly set this dining experience apart was our server, Abby. From the moment she greeted us with a warm and genuine smile, it was evident that she took her job seriously and cared about providing outstanding service. Her friendly demeanor and positive energy made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our entire visit. Abby's attention to detail and proactive approach ensured that our glasses were never empty and that all our needs were promptly attended to. Her genuine passion for her work shone through, and it made our dining experience truly memorable.
The restaurant itself had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a tasteful decor that created a cozy and intimate ambiance. The staff, including the host/hostess and other servers, were all friendly and professional, contributing to the overall positive dining experience.
To sum it up, my visit to this restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. The incredible chicken sandwich alone would be reason enough to return, but the exceptional service provided by Abby truly elevated the entire dining experience. If you find yourself craving a mouthwatering chicken sandwich paired with outstanding service, look no further than this remarkable establishment. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreReally enjoyed brunch here. The staff was really friendly from Micah the host to Ruby our server. Really made us feel like people and guests rather than just customers.
The pulled pork was great as was the Hollandaise sauce. The fried corn bread was ok, but not really my thing.
The breakfast burrito was good.
One of my favorite things was the little things about drinks that become big. The iced tea was clearly kept cold, so ice just kept it there rather than melting, cooling and diluting it. Also when I asked for more, Ruby brought me a carafe. I ended up drinking two of these and had ice left over. The coffee was hot enough that my wife could put lots of cold cream in it and it was still hot. Little things, but big additions.
They were really busy and full with the brunch crowd, but still were attentive and didn’t make us feel rushed. Instead it just added a festive atmosphere.
One suggestion, give an option for real maple syrup rather than maple flavored syrup. Charge extra for it, because it’s more expensive but it’s worth it.
So we liked everything so much that we came back in our way out of town and had another great meal and good conversation with Brian the front of house manager and weekday server.
The loaded Biscuits and gravy were great. The biscuits are light, flaky and flavorful and gravy is delicious.
Unfortunately they were out of Chicken Fried Steak, but the breaded chicken breast was a great substitute and great. The hash browns were also what hash...
