Food: 9/10 Service: 10/10 (no issues) Atmosphere/Environment: 8/10 Location: 10/10

My wife and I tried this restaurant (and Korean food in general) for the first time this past week and really enjoyed it. It's nice to have the variety of a Korean-themed restaurant in an area already saturated with a lot of Chinese and Thai. I highly recommend trying it and keeping it around!

Our order: Boneless lunch combo w/ Honey Garlic wings, fries, and drink Boneless lunch combo w/ Galbi wings, steamed rice, and drink

All the wings were great, rivaling other wing restaurants in Mobile. I preferred the Galbi flavor which was a typical Korean BBQ flavor, and my wife preferred the Honey Garlic. The wings had just enough sauce and the flavors weren't overbearing.

Both sides (fries and steamed rice) were fairly standard but great. The steamed rice especially was perfectly cooked and had a nice flavor and stickiness to it.

There were several TVs on mute throughout the restaurant playing Korean-themed music videos. There was a playlist of mostly Korean music playing through the speakers. One TV had a trivia game that could be joined by phone which is a nice touch. I liked the atmosphere overall, though I feel it could be a little darker.

Overall, we loved it and look forward...

Tonight, we indulged in our third visit to bb.q Chicken, and once again, they delivered a remarkably satisfying experience. Each encounter has been consistently delightful, showcasing their mastery of fried chicken. We had the wings, boneless, and fries. The texture is a triumph: perfectly crisp on the outside, yet light and succulent within. Not an exaggeration, every bite bursts with flavor, making it clear that this isn’t just fast food, it’s thoughtfully crafted comfort food. No dipping sauce necessary.

This evening, we opted for delivery via DoorDash, admittedly bracing ourselves for a dip in quality. To our surprise and delight, the food arrived just as delicious as if we’d been dining in. The fries, still warm, were golden and crisp, seasoned to an ideal balance of salt and crunch. It was exactly the indulgent, savory note we wanted for our pre-Easter dinner.

There was, however, one unfortunate hiccup: as I savored my final wing, I encountered long hair, definitely not my own. A jarring moment, to be sure, but I’m choosing to see it as an isolated misstep. The restaurant was spotless during our two in-person visits, which lends confidence to that assumption. Despite the slip, bb.q Chicken continues to impress, and we’ll absolutely return. They've earned...

The food was excellent! Mobile is new to the Korean scene, so I think some of the reception has been a little skewed because the flavors and execution of the food are new us. Firstly, the portions here are large - which is great! So maybe consider sharing the flavors to help justify the cost. My husband and I barely made a dent in our bowls individually and thus agreed to share in future visits. Secondly, I think some folks are surprised that the main staple here is just chicken. In my opinion, our cultural norm in Mobile is to expect a large variety of proteins and sides. So before you come, look over the menu and expect limited options - which is not bad! It's just this restaurant. Getting upset that there aren't more options here is the same as complaining that Chickfila doesn't have a burger... Lastly, maybe it's not "authentic" Korean like some reviews, but I personally never had that expectation. I expected Korean flavors and tried a side dish (I forget the name) that would give me a taste of what more Korean food would be like. It met those expectations! Seriously delicious chicken, flavors and...

This place Does not compare to traditional South Korean restaurants or actual Korean bbq restaurants. Not the best but not the worst, either. The “Korean” aspect seems like a gimmick. The menu isn’t planned properly. Most items are sold a la carte at $15 each. It cost nearly $30 to have fried rice and chicken. The portion sizes are perfect for family or group dining. There aren’t any real options for 1 person portions. 6 tv screens had loop music videos but each screen was muted while a Trotsky unrelated song played over the restaurant’s speakers. The atmosphere was odd and needs to be dimmer. I ordered galbi chicken and kimchi rice. Beautiful presentation. Poor preparation. Chicken seemed like it’d been frozen. Did not taste great after reheating. I think that the restaurant should offer a better menu and traditional hot stone bowl bibimbap. Give us the real thing.

I returned to bb.q Chicken. The first time I ate from here I had the kimchi fried rice. That experience was great until my bowl I was eating from fell off the table. Luckily that didn’t happen this time. I knew from the very start of the night I wanted to eat some wings. The honey garlic wings looked appealing from the moment I saw them. I ordered the wings and added some fries as well. The notification said my wait would be 20+ minutes. I decided to pick up my order as soon as I made the order. When I got there my food was ready with time to spare. I started with the fries and they were not bad at all. They were longer cut fries. The wings looked amazing when I opened the box. They were equally delicious when I tasted them. The crunch was perfect. I would definitely recommend bb.q.
