My daughter and I stopped at Outback last night after the parades for a late dinner. It was about 9pm, so there was no wait and we were quickly seated. Nichole E. was our waitress and was amazing from the very beginning! She greeted us with a smile and within minutes we had our drinks and some warm bread. We ordered the aussie cheese fries (one of my favorite foods for over 25 years now), their new garlic parm chicken bites (seasonal menu), their koala cocktail for me and a soda for my daughter. The cheese fries came out first and were perfection! They were hot, super cheesy, and were delivered with the extra ranch we requested when we ordered. I wish there would be a little more bacon on them, but they were still awesome and we dove in! The chicken bites arrived looking and smelling heavenly! When I ate the 1st one I noticed that while the flavor was good, the texture seemed off. I know that can happen with chicken sometimes, so I didn’t say anything, but a minute later I noticed my daughter spitting hers out because “the texture was weird”. I never said anything to her about my 1st bite so I know she wasn’t just saying that. She and I both tried another piece. Mine was fine, hers was still a little off, but she ate it. My 3rd bite was the final straw, it also had a weird texture, almost like it was undercooked, even though it was white when cut. We felt horrible saying anything to the waitress, but these were inedible, so we let her know. Nichole was insanely understanding about the situation and did not make us feel bad at all about it! She told the manager and they removed it from our bill and also offered us a free dessert to go (she knew we were tired from the parade). They went above and beyond to make it right, and based on the service and cheese fries we will definitely be going back! P.S. the koala drink is really good, especially if you don’t want to taste alcohol. It’s fruity and sweet, and the Outback koala duck you get to keep just made it...
Read moreShould be able to choose 0 stars. Absolutely the world’s worst service. The hostesses were extremely rude. Management ended up being just as rude. I truly hope this place gets shut down. Made a reservation that was approved by a manager. (or so I was told). Arrived and they sat a table where we were supposed to be seated. Manager came out and apologized and said he would seat us as soon as they could. An hour and a half later, the tables were clean and empty but we were told that the waitress didn’t want anymore big tables because she had enough big tables for the night. (We arrived at 5:30) Then all of a sudden they claimed they don’t take reservations and only do call ahead seating after we had sat there for an hour and a half past our 5:30 reservation. One of the hostesses told us we could leave and go somewhere else and then threatened to call the cops on us because we were complaining about all the crap we had to put up with. The first manager I spoke with ended up lying to my face saying we never had a reservation yet he apologized for the inconvenience and said he would make sure we had appetizers as soon as we sat down when i spoke to him at 5:30. If they couldn’t accommodate a large party they could have said it in the beginning instead of letting small children sit there getting irritable because they were hungry. So we left and Olive Garden was absolutely great about getting us seated and taken care of as fast as they could. We were told the wait would be about 40 minutes but were sat within 30 minutes. I will make sure I nor anybody else I know will ever support Outback Steakhouse again. Especially the one in...
Read moreWe've been dining at Outback in Mobile for the 30+ years its been here, from the original location on Montilmar to the current, smaller one on Airport blvd. Sadly, tonight was the worst visit we've ever had at any Outback restaurant. Cognizant of the dinner crowd, we arrived early on Saturday afternoon at 3:45 for a table for three. In the past, this has always been early enough that we're seated almost immediately. However, while the parking lot wasn't even half full, the lobby was packed with people standing around everywhere. The waitress informed me that there was a 45-minute wait, but I agreed to stay because my wife had a craving for their Prime Rib. It ended up being 50 minutes before we were seated, and as we walked to our booth, I noticed that nearly half the tables in the dining room were unoccupied.
I can only assume that there was some sort of staff shortage as I never saw more than about 3 servers , including ours. That notwithstanding, our server was very attentive and accommodating, and all our food and drinks were spot-on. However, the almost hour wait was completely unacceptable and really put a damper on our whole meal. We have always enjoyed Outback, but with the higher menu prices and ridiculous wait time, it's just not worth it when there are so many other comparable places to eat in the vicinity (Olive Garden, Red Lobster, BJ's...
