Kung Fu Tea — Restaurant in Modesto

Super disappointed with the service today. It was not that busy, we stood in the front looking at the menu board for before moving to the counter. Probably one person waiting for their drink. Others were already seated and had drinks. Could see one guy at the front making 1 drink for one person, another guy in the back not sure what he was doing. We honestly stood at the counter for 7 minutes in addition to the previous 5 and were never acknowledged. Not even a hello, I'll be right with you.. what finally made me leave was when 2 young girls came in and went to the back hall area - both young men quickly made it to them to chat rather than help the customers. They even looked up and saw me watching them - I'd probably fire both of these goof balls if I was in charge! Learn some customer service skills. We then went to the new location on Oakdale Rd. closer to home. We were greeted right away with 3 eager working young ladies who were extremely friendly. Definitely will mark the McHenry location off my list for the future. I've never had an issue there before? 5 stars for the Oakdale Rd location - should send these young ladies to McHenry to teach these young men...

I have a thing about online ordering and calling in orders, I had ordered two popular drinks an hour before I had to pick it up especially since I go on my lunch break, I get there and there is no specific line for picking up orders, there is no structure of managing them as well, they couldn't find my order and I had to tell them a few times what it was, another 35 mins and still no drinks after asking one last time, I finally get them and they were rushed so they didn't make them as specified and tasted horrible, as a tea enthusiasts I don't recommend unless your into the powder generic teas and syrup thing. I understand they are busy and all but still they should have some sort of strategy to have our orders made right and on time.

First some background, I love boba/milk tea. With that said, I have certain standards for boba as well.

I got the Wintermelon Milk Cap with boba, but made the amateur mistake of not adjusting sweetness and ice. The milk cap here is thick and salty, not quiet the same as places like Happy Lemon. But it works well with the sweet wintermelon tea. I would definitely get 50% sweet and 50% ice next time.

One thing I was impressed about was the boba. I was able to taste honey, and the boba was just the right amount of chewiness/al dente.

I was repeatedly told by my coworkers the Taro Milk Tea was bomb, can't wait...
