So this used to be my boyfriend and I's favorite sandwich place today everyone was very kind as always but the guy taking our order was more focused on having a conversation than putting in our order. Every time one of us tried to speak he cut us off about something completely irrelevant to the situation we were so hungry after running around all day and I had the shakes we waited 15 min in the parking lot before opening just excited to get our favorite sandwiches. Apparently during one of his long-ass stories he accidentally handed our food out the drive-through, which is fine I've worked in food and I've done stuff like that before. We were trying to be patient but it was really hard. And then when we finally got our food, he gave us the wrong chips bc SHOCKER he wasn't paying attention, which is also fine. My sandwich was fine, my soup was fine, my salad was fine, my boyfriend ordered a Smokey Pepper-jack Turkey, recieved the wrong bread, it had lettuce and tomato on it (that's fine its removable but he would have ordered it without had he known it was on it) and for some ungodly reason there was unseasoned avocado on there which is like diarrhea without salt/pepper. I understand mistakes happen but I can't help but feel like it all stemmed from the gentleman taking our order not listening in the first place. I work in customer service and I'm sorry but you gotta know when to do your job and when to have...
Read moreI’ve loved eating at McAlister’s in other states for years, so I was excited to see that there would be a location in the Quad Cities, and near my office. But after four separate visits - with a mix of eating in and carrying out app orders - I’m giving up. Service at this location can no longer be overlooked as “growing pains” for a new store. Likes in the restaurant are seemingly always long. The staff looks unorganized; the front counter workers frequently are having to correct mistakes with orders with the team in the back, and several employees up front haplessly alternate between wandering with plates to deliver and refill duty - while doing neither efficiently. Regarding online order pickup, it is unclear where to stand once you arrive, or if your order is in the works. There is also no way to ensure that your order doesn’t sit behind the counter getting cold once it is finally ready. (Typical experience - you will have to harass someone between tasks to grab your order to hand off to you.) The food is fair, but not stellar. But the turn-around time is just unacceptable for a lunch break, especially at this price point, considering that Panera offers a similar menu and better...
Read moreWe were excited a try this recently opened establishment. That excitement was unwarranted. The restaurant itself was bright and had a nice theme to it. The assistant manager eventually took my order but did appeared to struggle with register, but our order was placed and promptly delivered to our table. I ordered the King Club on wheat with macaroni and cheese.
That sandwich looked impressive initially but that quickly faded. For a $10 sandwich I expected something other than $1 a loaf generic store bought bread. That was very disappointing. The bread was thin, unremarkable and just fell apart when I tried to eat the sandwich. The ham, turkey and two cheeses both were of very high quality and tasty. The bacon though... It was the flat, razor thin, bought precooked variety. That is just being lazy, cheap and unacceptable for a premium deli sandwich. The Mac and cheese was ok but nothing amazing.
Overall for the price and quality, save your money and get a quality sandwich from top to bottom at Panera. They understand that a great deli sandwich starts with...
