First time at Jo-El's for lunch, and the food lived up to the hype! The Jo Burger with cheddar cheese on a jalapeño bun was a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, paired with loaded tots (queso and bacon, cooked to perfection). We also tried the smashed patty—great option, though they have thicker patties too. The chicken bacon ranch flatbread was bursting with flavor and packed with meat, so good we took leftovers home. Sweet potato fries with their specialty sauce were a highlight! Service was excellent, but the restaurant needs attention. The place felt unclean, with a noticeable sewage-like odor, and the floor desperately needs replacing. A deep clean would make a huge difference. Read moreThis is an excellent little joint here in NELA. The food was fantastic and priced fairly. Though the food selection wasn’t massive, there was plenty on the menu for everyone to find something they like and they also have daily/weekly specials. The appetizers were much better than you’ll find at any chain and the burgers were juicy, flavorful and huge. The service was great too. The lone waiter never had us waiting on a single thing. He was quick draw McGraw, and anticipated our needs quicker than we could communicate them. He’s a service rockstar. I’m glad we gave this place a chance…we’ll be back this weekend for brunch! ;-) All...
Read moreThis place has potential as far as the food goes. My bacon egg and cheese burger was presented well and plenty big. As far as flavor, the bun, bacon and egg was perfect 5 stars. However, the patty wasn’t seasoned and had an off taste/maybe from lesser quality ground meat, but plenty of it 2 1/2 stars. Cleanliness and location/safe area are 3 stars. Serviced was terrible 1 star, especially considering there was only one other table. After getting my drink quickly, I waited for seven minutes and finally walked to the kitchen door to tell the server wwith a leg propped up on the prep table that...
