La Herradura — Restaurant in Monroe

We waited 2 hours to get our food from 8:30 to 10:30 for 4 people we got there and all we had was menus. Then she took our drink order and then our food order which also took a good bit to do. And took a good bit to get our drinks. We then sat there for the rest of the time with no sauces or the cheese dip that I ordered. And it was hard to get the servers attention to be able to ask what was going on. Then when we got our food we had to wait on silverware and napkins and so our food then got cold. The food on top of that was disgusting!! This is the WORST service I have ever experienced!!! Will not be back!!! They weren’t even that busy they had plenty of booths open and available. When you see this lineup of sauces, you know they’re not playing. This is the only sit down place w/ a liquor license that I’ve been to in the Charlotte metro area that has the 3 sauce options. The orange is fire, most Mexican restaurants in the area serve you practically tomato paste without spice. This orange sauce actually has some heat. Dont worry if you can’t handle heat, the other sauces aren’t as hot so there’s still an option for you. Guacamole was very flavorful. Portions were huge, great bang for your buck. I believe we came on opening day so they were working out the kinks and getting their liquor license down so we were unable to try the margs. For starters we had chips, two salsas and a small queso brought to us upon being seated. The green salsa had that good hot bite along with good flavor and the red was milder but also with good flavor. Music was playing low as we ordered our main meals and they were very tasty and flavorful but then things went not so good. A DJ came in and cranked the music up to ear hurting level, our waitress became nonexistent and stayed on her phone and other waitresses went outside. We did manage to get a refill on our drinks though.
