My first visit here in Monroe, NC. Looking forward to dining here for about a year. One word describes my entire experience: Disappointed. I had never been to a Logan's before. Walked in for Lunch about 3p.m at the Monroe location... and stood... waiting to be acknowledged by someone. Anyone. The apparent hostess stood right there beside us in what seemed to be a hostess station, looking across an empty restaurant. My lunch companion said under her breath, "not off to a good start so far". We stood there for a good minute before the lady began picking up menus and guiding us to a table. No "hello", no "welcome", no "follow me", nothing. Friendly older lady but very non-engaging. Waffle House grade steak at Prime grade prices. Pure and simple. Barely 1/2" thick steaks. Smallest porterhouse I've ever seen. Strip wasn't much better. Meat quality is very low grade. Cooked beyond well done the first time. They gave a resounding apology and cooked another one to order. I think it was the manager that accompanied this one to the table, but he didn't say who he was. Could have been a cook for all I know. Correctly done, but the flavor was nasty. Again, Waffle House quality and flavor meat. Tasted like the smell of soured / rotting garbage. Appetizer was onions and they were very greasy, breaded and fried, but small slivers. Most of the sides we tried were just plain gross and barely eaten and we left them behind. Very poor quality. Took the leftover steak, fat, gristle and bones home to the dogs. Leftover steak is a first for me. Beans were bland and nearly inedible. Baked potato was good, but I ordered butter and sour cream and received butter on the side, no sour cream. They kept trying to push and suggest things for an extra charge. Things that I did not want. Trying to suggest and sell more, rather than listen to what I wanted and get it right. No, I don't want a loaded baked potato with all that junk added for an extra charge. Just butter and sour cream, please. No, I don't want my steak topped with something that is an additional charge. I clearly read it as available on the menu, and if I wanted it, I would have ordered it that way. Friendliness of the serving staff, kitchen, manager, etc. beat most places you would go eat. But attention to detail of an order goes way further with me. If my food isn't correct, something is missing etc., you will lose me as a customer quicker than if someone has the personality of a dial tone. Rolls were good and plentiful, the only positive thing I can say about the entire experience. Waited and waited for the check to arrive and finally got up and went to the hostess station thinking we had to pay there. We didn't. The server was supposed to bring it. On the way to the hostess, as we walked between the bar and booths, I saw a very large cockroach 🪳 walking from the bar area towards an occupied booth. I pointed it out to others in my party and to the patrons at the booth, and they seemed to shrug it off, making me wonder if this was a common occurrence. Roaches walking across the restaurant in the middle of the day? Gross! Nail in the coffin right there.
For two people, 2 steak entrees, sides, an appetizer and drinks, just over $70. I can spend less than that at other nearby steak restaurants, have way better quality food, get everything I order, and my 1" THICK steak cooked correctly the first time. If you order your low-quality, flavorless Prime Rib well done, this is probably the place for you. Nothing they can do or say will ever cause me to eat here...
Read moreMy family visited here on Sunday, February 5, 2023, for my granddaughter's birthday celebration. We waited for an hour and a half and, once seated, got completely humiliated. We understand that they can only serve 12 to a group. We had 11 in our party when we were seated. Shortly after, 4 others came to join, and instead of inconveniencing the establishment and the 12 person rule, the four members sat at a different table rather than the tables put together for the celebration. When we were trying to make a decision on what we were going to do, one of the mangers came over to our section and just started yelling at us and using a completely aggressive, demeaning, and harsh tone. He was stating that this is their restaurant and he will not let us come in and do whatever we want and that he would not serve us until we were 12 or less or we could just go somewhere else. At this time everyone in the restaurant was staring and a couple of the other guests came and offered us their seat and mentioned that the manager was out of line and it makes them not even want to eat there. Several members of our party had tears in our eyes because that was very unnecessary, and we hadn't said a thing, but the manager decided to make a scene and just storm off! The party of four offered to just leave so that the others could be served but at that point the damage had already been done and the birthday girl (7 years old) was devastated that her favorite restaurant acted in this manner. To no surprise, we left the establishment and went somewhere where our presence wasn't an inconvenience.
When leaving the restaurant, we saw another large party (12+) of Caucasian decent that was happily being served. I couldn't help but wonder if this was a larger issue. My granddaughter was very hurt and kept asking me why the manager would act like that? I explained that I did not know why, but nonetheless, we should treat people the way we want to be treated. We are all the same in God's eyes, and I hope that gentlemen comes around. As for my family, I do not see us ever going here again! The latest experience was just too...
Read moreMy wife and I usually love Logan’s, but not tonight! If I could put 0 stars or negative stars I would! We were there for over 1 1/2 hours and still didn’t have our food. Waitress kept checking on food saying because of the bone in steak it is taking longer. Finally, I asked the waitress for our Diet Coke ticket because we were gong ahead and leaving…which the Diet Coke was an issue…the unsweet tea we asked for originally was sweet and we were told it wasn’t sweet when I said it was sweet. We were brought new “unsweet” teas and they were sweet too, so I told the waitress and she said she’d go and taste it and came back and said, “yes it is sweet” (mmmm…). Then after asking for our ticket to pay for our drinks…she brought our food. My steak wasn’t even hot! She said that she didn’t even realize it was my steak (our order) because it didn’t look like a bone in steak (the bone was about the size of a dime). So it sat up in the kitchen. My wife’s mesquite grilled chicken did not have the rice that comes with it and she was told, “oh, we are out of rice!” She was never told they were out of rice or even offered a substitute. Plus, her baked potato was supposed to be plain, it wasn’t. The waitress was very nice…she did try and she went to talk to the manager (did this on her own) and came back and told us that the manager was taking care of this for us and we could go ahead and eat. The manager came and asked me if I wanted my steak and I was like what do you mean do I want my steak? Confused at this point…she said “if I take care of it I can’t have it”! We were not going to wait two more hours for another one to cook. I never am one to want a meal for free but I could not believe after all we had been through that she treated us that way!’ My wife told her to take her food too that we didn’t want any of it! She was so rude and...
