Mac's Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Monroe

Service was decent, my fish was good, however my mac n cheese tasted like it was left over from the day before and reheated---and definitely not the baked mac n cheese I'm used to. Didn't care for the fried squash either. I may try again one day.

update So against my better judgement I tried Mac's again with my coworkers. Since the fish was good the last time I figured I couldn't go wrong with a fish sandwich and fries. My coworker ordered the same. Boy was I wrong...the fish on both of our sandwiches looked like it had been in a fight before they placed it on the bun...it just looked like some left odds and ends. But that wasnt even what took the cake...the bread tasted sour. Another coworker that was with us got amd requested someome come to the table to address our issues and for a good minute it seemed as if noone was coming. When someone finally did come she told us the bread wasnt old as they had just got a shipment in that week...smh we did eventually get our money returned to us.

On another note my coworker had ordered the seafood platter and he enjoyed that and another coworker ordered a piece of cake which was also pretty good. They give you a free dessert...

After many years of trying, my husband & I finally caught Mac's Chicken & Seafood Restaurant in Monroe open at the same time we were ready to eat! We missed lunch but we decided on the BBQ plate, that is served all day. The BBQ, french fries & hush puppies were excellent, along with the homemade chips with Ranch Dressing. Its very exciting to us that the tartar sauce is very good so we can't wait to try the fish dinners they have. We also want to try several of the sides they have at lunch, such as Fried okra & squash, Mac & Cheese, collards & pinto beans. We didn't realize the Bakery was open Mon-Fri from 9am to 5pm. Because it was our first time there we got a free dessert. You have to leave room for one of the many desserts they have. We had the Red Velvet Cake & Pound Cake with Lemon Icing. Both were awesome. They do sell whole cakes & pies too. We definitely will...

The food came out fast, probably because they just had to warm it up, everything taste like it was precooked and frozen. The BBQ had so much liquid I had to half eat and half drink it. The sides were bland and for the quality of the meals it was overpriced. With two lunch specials and two drinks it came out to be $20.10 Not to mention the soda machines they had two, the first one near the register I got mnt.dew and it tastes alot more like soda water and not enough syrup. So the next time I went to the second machine and got mnt.dew this time it was alot of syrup and hardly any soda water, I couldn't drink it. In short I feel like I wasted money and I'll...
